Strung Out bring Suburban Teenage Wasteland Blues back to Adelaide 30 years on
Friday 18 September 2026Lion Arts Factory
US punk-metal band Strung Out play Lion Arts Factory on 18 September 2026 for their Suburban Teenage Wasteland Blues 30th Anniversary Tour, marking 30 years since their 1996 album crammed 13 melodic, high-velocity songs into 32 minutes. The band will perform the record in full alongside material from their ten-album catalogue.
Thirty years on, Suburban Teenage Wasteland Blues still sounds like an argument settled in 32 minutes flat. Strung Out's 1996 record crammed 13 songs into that short window and came out the other side as one of the defining albums of the era's punk scene. This September, the band bring it back to Australia in full, part of a national run of headline shows built around the anniversary.
The album opens with "Firecracker" and doesn't let up much from there, right through to closer "Wrong Side of the Tracks". It's melodic, but never soft. Strung Out have always understood the trick of pairing hook-heavy songwriting with riffs that move fast enough to leave bruises, and that balance is exactly what made Suburban Teenage Wasteland Blues stick with a generation of fans who grew up on it.
The band haven't coasted since. Ten albums in, Strung Out remain known as one of punk rock's most reliable live acts: loud, tight, no filler. They're not a band that trades on nostalgia for its own sake, which makes an anniversary tour like this one worth paying attention to. Expect the record played in full, or close to it, alongside cuts pulled from across their catalogue.
For anyone who wore this album out on a cheap stereo in the late '90s or discovered it secondhand years later, this run is a chance to hear it the way it was meant to be heard: fast, loud and in a room full of people who know every word. Details on dates and venues for the Australian leg are still to be confirmed, but the tour is set to land this September.

Details are correct at the time of publishing. Events can change or be cancelled, so please confirm dates, times and prices with the venue or ticket seller before booking.
