Rose Tattoo, one of Australia's most influential rock bands, will play their final shows in 2026 after five decades of touring. Guitarist Rob Riley will join the farewell performances alongside Angry Anderson and the current lineup.
Rose Tattoo, the legendary Australian rock band formed in Sydney in the mid-1970s, has announced 2026 as their final year of touring after more than five decades on the road. The farewell run will celebrate the band's remarkable journey through blues, boogie and street-level rock 'n' roll that has earned them status as one of the nation's most important rock exports, with tours alongside ZZ Top and Aerosmith among their career highlights.
Led by Angry Anderson's unmistakable voice, Rose Tattoo will perform with current members Mick Arnold, Steve 'Kingy' King and Paul Demarco, joined by guitarist Rob Riley for select shows. Riley, known as Rockin' Rob Riley, was instrumental in the band's classic albums 'Scarred For Life' and 'Pain', contributing to standout tracks including the title track, 'We Can't Be Beaten' and 'Work Itself Out'. Anderson praised Riley as "one of the great Rock and Roll guitarists of all time", noting his rhythm and legendary solos.
The band's influence spans generations of musicians worldwide, from Guns N' Roses (who covered 'Nice Boys Don't Play Rock & Roll') to countless punk, hard rock and metal acts. Their anthems including 'Bad Boy For Love', 'Rock 'N' Roll Outlaw', 'Nice Boys' and 'We Can't Be Beaten' remain staples of Australian rock culture. "The fans have carried us through every decade, every tour and every challenge," Anderson said. "Now it's time to celebrate that journey together one last time."
