Chamberfest concludes with Strauss' Vier letzte Lieder and a newly arranged Der Rosenkavalier trio at UKARIA Cultural Centre on Sunday 4 October 2026. Soprano Siobhan Stagg debuts the role of Marschallin alongside mezzo-soprano Helen Charlston and soprano Rachel Fenlon.
Chamberfest's final concert brings together the core ensemble expanded into a mini orchestra for an evening centred on Viennese repertoire. Soprano Siobhan Stagg will perform Strauss' Vier letzte Lieder (Four Last Songs) alongside a newly commissioned arrangement of the trio from Der Rosenkavalier by James Ledger. Stagg takes on the role of Marschallin for the first time, performing opposite mezzo-soprano Helen Charlston as Octavian and soprano Rachel Fenlon as Sophie von Faninal.
The program opens with selections from Alban Berg's Sieben frühe Lieder, performed by Rachel Fenlon with piano accompaniment by Jonathan Ware. Quatuor Agate performs Erich Wolfgang Korngold's String Quartet No. 2 in E flat. After the interval, Helen Charlston and Jonathan Ware present a cycle of Gustav Mahler songs.
The concert takes place on Sunday 4 October 2026 at 6pm, running approximately 2 hours with a 25-minute interval. Tickets are priced at $80 for adults, $75 concession, and $40 for under 40s. The event is currently sold out, though a waitlist is available.
