Dunstan Playhouse is one of the theatres within Adelaide Festival Centre, South Australia's principal performing arts venue. The complex includes Festival Theatre, Dunstan Playhouse (formerly The Playhouse and Optima Playhouse), Space Theatre and several gallery and function spaces.

Dunstan Playhouse is located at Adelaide Festival Centre, King William Road, Adelaide SA 5000, approximately 50 metres north of the corner of North Terrace and King William Road.

History

The Playhouse (now Dunstan Playhouse) was constructed from April 1970 to 1980, following the opening of Festival Theatre in June 1973. The theatres and internal spaces underwent extensive upgrading and refurbishment in late 2025, reopening in time for the Adelaide Festival at the end of February 2026.
