GRAMMY-winning Mexican acoustic guitar duo Rodrigo y Gabriela will tour Australia in January 2027, performing material from their new album OurHome alongside established favourites. The tour calls at Brisbane (Fortitude Music Hall, 13 January), Sydney (Enmore Theatre, 14 January), Melbourne (Palais Theatre, 15 January), Hobart (Odeon Theatre, 17 January), Adelaide (The Gov, 19 January), and Perth (Regal Theatre, 21 January), with presale tickets from 26 August and general public on sale from 28 August through Destroy All Lines.

Recorded and self‑produced at NK Sound Tokyo, OurHome marks a striking new chapter for the duo, whose fearless blend of acoustic mastery, cinematic atmosphere, and spiritual exploration has earned them a global audience over more than two decades. The album’s creative spark emerged from a deeply personal moment: the passing of their beloved studio cat, Pelusa. After months of creative uncertainty, the duo found themselves suddenly unlocked, writing freely and instinctively. “It was like she was telling us, ‘Stop messing around and just do what you do best,’” says Gabriela.

That idea runs throughout the album, which serves as both a love letter to Japan and a meditation on the possibility of finding peace wherever you are. Returning to the textural fluidity of acoustic instrumentation after the electric‑guitar‑heavy sound of 2023’s In Between Thoughts…A New World, OurHomefeatures collaborators including former Megadeth guitarist Marty Friedman, Japanese jazz pianist Hiromi, cellist Hiyori Okuda, and guitarist/composerYukihiro Atsumi. Mixed by five‑time GRAMMY winner Dave Sardy (The Who, Oasis, Red Hot Chili Peppers) and mastered by Stephen Marcussen (Nirvana, R.E.M., The Rolling Stones), the album draws from manga, mythology, migration, philosophy, nature, and personal transformation while remaining rooted in the expressive acoustic interplay that has defined Rodrigo y Gabriela’s career.

The album’s title was inspired by a sign on a Melbourne public housing tower reading “OUR HOME,” which echoed the record’s central theme, finding peace within yourself rather than seeking external approval. OurHome reflects the duo’s long-standing creative connection to Japan, a place that has repeatedly offered them artistic clarity and emotional grounding.

Alongside the album announcement, Rodrigo y Gabriela released the first single ‘Monster’ inspired by Naoki Urasawa’s iconic manga Monster and accompanied by a new video created by Urasawa himself. A longtime admirer of the duo, Urasawa crafted original artwork for the track, calling the collaboration “an encounter I still find incredible.”

They have also just released album’s second single, ‘OurHome,’ a luminous, meditative composition that captures the album’s core message of inner grounding and emotional clarity. Serving as a thematic counterpoint to ‘Monster,’ the track offers a sense of uplift, stillness, and renewal.
