The Primary Schools Music Festival, presented by the Public Primary Schools Music Society in partnership with the Department for Education, is a cornerstone of South Australian cultural life that has endured for 135 years. Running 15–18 September 2026 nightly at 7:30pm in Adelaide Entertainment Centre's Arena, the festival brings thousands of young voices together to perform at the highest level.
By the end of this season, more than 300 schools will have been represented in the festival. Through music and the arts, students develop confidence, creativity, teamwork and communication skills while experiencing the unique sense of connection that comes from performing together. Research in neuroscience shows that children actively engaged in music develop improved memory and enhanced maths and language skills.
