This is a natural raffia weaving workshop with Janelle Egan, a First Nations weaver of Arrernte, Gurindji and Dieri Nations, who will guide participants through the basics of the craft. The session runs at Artspace, within the Dunstan Playhouse building at Adelaide Festival Centre, on 8 August 2026 at 11am, and is free to attend.

Janelle is based in Adelaide and works primarily with raffia, creating baskets, mats, coasters, wall pieces and jewellery informed by cultural connection and storytelling through fibre. The workshop forms part of OUR MOB, Adelaide Festival Centre's year-long program marking 20 years of celebrating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists, and sits within the broader BIGGEST MOB celebration of South Australian Aboriginal art running from 10 July to 4 October 2026.

Artspace is accessed via King William Road or North Terrace, with entry through Festival Plaza or the Riverbank near the Adelaide Riverbank Pedestrian Bridge.
