Thebarton Theatre

Thebarton Theatre is an entertainment venue with a capacity of 2,000 people, featuring customisable seating that can be arranged in the round or with seating partially or fully removed for a dance floor. It is known as a music venue for both big international names and newly established artists, as well as a range of other types of performance.

Location
Thebarton Theatre is located in the inner-western Adelaide suburb of Torrensville, on the corner of Henley Beach Road and South Road (formerly Taylor's Road).
History
Built in 1926 as a combined town hall and picture theatre, Thebarton Theatre was officially opened on 11 June 1928. It operated as a cinema until 3 July 1965, then was revived as a performance venue from the 1960s onwards. It was listed on the South Australian Heritage Register on 23 September 1982. A major upgrade was completed in September 2025.
Good to know
The theatre has bars and retail areas. Outdoor bars were added in 2018. Thebarton Theatre is in partnership with Holden Street Theatres and houses its office headquarters.
