HOODOO GURUS CELEBRATE 45THANNIVERSARY WITH REWIND TOUR – ALL KILLER, NO FILLER FOR NOVEMBER AND DECEMBER 2026
+ Very special guests RATCAT and THE STEMS
+ Tickets on sale Tue 23 Jun

Frontier Touring are thrilled to announce that one of Australia’s most enduring and beloved musical acts, Hoodoo Gurus, will celebrate the 45th anniversary of the band’s formation with the Hoodoo Gurus Rewind Tour – All Killer, No Filler in November and December 2026.
“We’ve often been described as a “singles band” so for this Rewind tour we’re gonna embrace that notion by only playing songs that were released as singles. No b-sides, no album tracks, we’ll just be concentrating on the hits – and quite a few misses as well! It’s funny but some of our biggest flops went on to become some of our most beloved songs. “Axegrinder” horrified radio programmers back in the day – “We can’t play that!” seemed to be their collective response – but within 12 months “Axegrinder” had become a fan-favourite, which it remains to this day. There are a whole lot of other near-misses that fall into that category. Along with all our bona fide hits, we’re hoping to play every one of our 42 singles at least once somewhere during this tour.”
Dave Faulkner
Joining the Gurus on all shows are one of our most influential indie pop-punk bands, Sydney’s RATCAT, celebrating their 40th anniversary as a group, along with Perth’s legendary arbiters of garage rock, THE STEMS.
This epic all Aussie line-up kicks off at Hindley Street Music Hall, Adelaideon Saturday 28 November then onto Ice Cream Factory, Perth on Tuesday 1 December, Tumbalong Park, Sydney* on Saturday 5 December, Royal Botanic Gardens, Melbourne* on Sunday 6 December before winding up at The Fortitude Music Hall, Brisbane on Friday 11 December.
Frontier Members can access their presale from Monday 22 June, 12noonlocal time before tickets go on sale to the public from Tuesday 23 June, 1pm local time. Tickets and tour information via frontiertouring.com/hoodoogurus
About Hoodoo Gurus
Hoodoo Gurus occupy a singular place in Australian – and international – rock’n’roll history. Formed in Sydney in 1981 by members of seminal ’70s Australian punk bands The Victims and Fun Things, the Gurus fused garage rock grit with pop smarts, sharp songwriting and an unrepentant love of classic rock’n’roll. Their sound – drawing on ’60s and ’70s influences but unmistakably their own – helped place them at the forefront of the global alternative, garage-rock and power-pop movement of the mid-1980s and beyond.
The band quickly found success at home and abroad, forging close ties with contemporaries such as The Bangles, Redd Kross and The Fleshtones, and becoming heroes of the pre-grunge era. Their debut album Stoneage Romeostopped the US College/Alternative chart, with follow-up releases including Mars Needs Guitars!, Blow Your Cool and Magnum Cum Louder also reaching the Billboard 200 while producing enduring hits such as “What’s My Scene”, “Like Wow – Wipeout!” and “Come Anytime”.
Across four decades, Hoodoo Gurus have amassed 10 ARIA Top 20 albums, nine Top 40 singles and multiple platinum certifications, while remaining one of Australia’s most formidable live bands. Their influence can be heard in generations of artists from You Am I and Spiderbait to Violent Soho, and they continue to be name-checked by international peers.
“The Gurus became one of Australia’s greatest singles bands, with a slew of hits: Bittersweet, Like Wow – Wipeout, What’s My Scene?, Come Anytime and many more.”
The Guardian
Inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame in 2007, the Gurus remain vital and revered elder statesmen of Australian rock. With sold-out tours, a catalogue of radio staples and a legacy that spans continents and generations, Hoodoo Gurus are one of Australia’s most enduring and beloved musical acts.

About RATCAT
Being a career (& story) not without its fair share of the proverbial ‘ups & downs’, RATCAT formed via a group of friends from the northern suburbs of Sydney morphing from previous band incarnations all having been influenced & involved in the local punk & post punk scenes predominant across Australia during the mid 1980’s.
Releasing a handful of self-funded singles, an acclaimed self-titled EP & the debut album This Nightmare RATCAT’s steady rise in popularity was in part the result of public radio nationwide embracing the band as well as a healthy dose of touring including with notables (& heroes) from the time such as The Buzzcocks, The Ramones, The Cramps, Violent Femmes, Public Image LTD, Sonic Youth, Mudhoney, The Wonderstuff, The Psychedelic Furs, Swervedriver, Pop Will Eat Itself & many more.
As the momentum gained pace, RATCAT then signed to INXS’s newly created indie rooArt Records & released the then ground breaking Tingles EP in 1990 which – & with no fanfare whatsoever – made a steady climb to the top of the ARIA National Top Forty over a period of 7 months, eventually reaching the coveted ARIA charts number 1 spot in May of 1991 … & much to the band’s surprise & shock at the time!.
Featuring the ‘sleeper’ hit ‘That Ain’t Bad’, it did herald the beginning of a new musical era that would resonate worldwide not but 14 months later courtesy of a Seattle based three piece knows as Nirvana and their groundbreaking album Nevermind. The subsequent release of the Blind Love album resulted in yet another number one chart result and again to the complete surprise of the band members and all involved at the time, RATCAT also scored a coinciding duel number one ARIA single ‘Don’t Go Now’.
2025 recognised the 35th anniversary of their mini album / EP that began their transition to chart domination – Tingles – released in October of 1990 going on to become the highest selling EP of 1991. The band also celebrate their 40thanniversary, hitting the road with Hoodoo Gurus and THE STEMS this November and December!

About THE STEMS
THE STEMS are one of Australia’s most influential garage rock bands, roaring out of Perth in the mid-80s with a sound that captured the raw spirit of sixties garage punk, fuzzed-out guitars and timeless power pop.
Their classic debut album At First Sight, Violets Are Blue (1987) is widely regarded as one of the great Australian records of its era, earning national and international acclaim and later being named by Rolling Stone among the Top 100 Australian albums of all time. Since reforming in the early 2000s, THE STEMS have continued to tour regularly across Australia, Europe, Japan and the United States, also celebrated the release of their 2nd album Heads Up(2007) while building a reputation for electrifying live performances and a catalogue filled with garage rock classics.
Following their sold out 40th anniversary tour across Australia and Europe in 2024, the band returned with acclaimed new singles ‘Falling From The Sky’ and ‘Deep Freeze’, while continuing work on their long-awaited third studio album. A new single, ‘Your Kind of Love’, is set for release this month.
In 2026, THE STEMS continue their momentum with select Australian appearances and a series of Spanish festival performances throughout July. Original members — Dom Mariani, Julian Matthews and Dave Shaw — remain at the heart of THE STEMS unmistakable sound and are joined by acclaimed Australian guitarist Davey Lane (You Am I).
“THE STEMS are both honoured and super excited to be a part of the upcoming ‘Hoodoo Gurus Rewind Tour – All Killer, No Filler’. THE STEMS have had a long association with the Hoodoo Gurus that started over 40 years ago, going back to the early support slots in Perth in 1984 and memorable shows at The Sydney Cove Tavern in 1985 and then as special guests for their ‘Like Wow Wipe Out’ tour in 1986, and also in more recent times as part of ‘The Clash of Titans’ and ‘Dig It Up’ tours. I’ve always admired the Gurus, not only for their great music but for their dedication and longevity to stay on top of the Australian music scene to become one of our country’s greatest ever rock and roll bands.”
Dom Mariani (THE STEMS)
