Katy Perry – Lifetimes 2025 Tour

June 27, 2025

Review by Markus Hamence – Performance date: Thursday 26 June 2025, Adelaide Entertainment Centre, South Australia

Katy Perry isn’t just another pop star – she’s a creative force who has continuously evolved while staying true to her larger-than-life persona. From the candy-colored days of Teenage Dream to the more introspective tones of Witness and the futuristic flair of her latest album 143, Perry has always pushed artistic boundaries. Her ability to reinvent her sound and visuals while maintaining chart-topping appeal speaks volumes about her longevity in a constantly shifting industry. Live on stage, she blends theatricality with vocal strength, delivering performances that are not only technically precise but emotionally resonant. In Adelaide, that artistry was on full display – proof that Katy Perry remains one of pop’s most compelling figures. So let’s chat the 2025 Lifetimes Tour

A Night of Pop Brilliance: Katy Perry’s Lifetimes Tour Ignites Adelaide

On Thursday 26 June 2025, the Adelaide Entertainment Centre transformed into a vibrant realm of pop fantasy as Katy Perry launched the first of her four Adelaide shows on the Lifetimes Tour. Returning to the city for the first time in six years, Perry delivered a performance that was both a visual spectacle and a heartfelt homage to her fans. Supported by a fabulously energetic Kinder, the night was a jam packed visual and audible feast.

A Grand Entrance and Futuristic Flair

The evening commenced with Perry descending from above, suspended by glowing wires, as she performed ‘Artificial’ from her latest album, 143. This dramatic entrance set the tone for a concert that seamlessly blended high-tech visuals with Perry’s signature pop energy. The stage design, resembling an infinity symbol, served as a dynamic platform for the night’s performances.

The stage was cleverly produced, in the figure eight, and gave everybody an up close experience. Combined with some mad aerials, Katy literally reached every part of the audience at various times and some lucky ones even scoring a Tim Tam or a Cadbury’s Caramello Koala. It was a very engaging, interactive and personal show. Credit.

Acknowledging Adelaide’s Advocate

In a heartfelt moment, Perry acknowledged South Australian Premier Peter Malinauskas, who played a pivotal role in bringing the tour to Adelaide. Recalling their encounter at the 2024 AFL Grand Final, she humorously referred to him as ‘some guy’ who convinced her to add Adelaide to the tour. This gesture resonated with the audience, highlighting the city’s enthusiasm and the Premier’s advocacy. Initially skipping Adelaide, Katy’s team did a 180 and FOUR SOLD-OUT SHOWS (more than any other state) later here we are. Bravo Adelaide, we showed ’em!

Setlist Highlights

The concert featured a mix of new tracks and fan favorites, including:

  • Chained to the Rhythm
  • California Gurls
  • Teenage Dream
  • Hot n Cold / Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)
  • I Kissed a Girl
  • E.T.
  • Part of Me
  • Roar
  • Firework (Finale, ofcourse)

A unique segment allowed fans to participate in selecting surprise songs through a ‘Choose Your Own Adventure’ interactive feature, adding a personalised touch to the experience. It was fun and included 3 girls and lady to sing and dance on stage with Perry. BUT, the highlight was a young boy (or superfan) who literally stole the limelight with his wicked ability to be FABULOUS, his heightened confidence and his NASTY dance moves (Google it, I’m sure you’ll find it, in fact, he’s BOUND to go viral).

A Night to Remember

Despite prior concerns about her health, Perry delivered a high-energy performance that captivated the audience. From elaborate costumes to intricate choreography, every element was meticulously crafted to create an unforgettable evening.

It was clear Katy wanted to be here. She was enjoying herself (despite the media frenzy over her ‘break-up’ with Orlando Bloom) and not just going through the motions. There’s a joy and an authenticity that emits from her and her shows send beautiful positive vibes… And, damn it, we NEED that right now hey?!

For those who missed the opening night, additional shows are scheduled at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre on June 27, 29, and 30. Tickets are available through official channels.

Katy Perry’s Adelaide concert was more than just a musical event; it was a celebration of resilience, community, and the unifying power of pop music.

Long-live Queen Katy of the Butterflies.

Rating: 5 out of 5.
