Vanishing Point have released the lead single Bring Me The Night from their seventh studio album Eremition, arriving November 20 after a six-year gap since 2018's Dead Elysium. The Melbourne melodic metal band, active for over three decades, describe the track as high-energy and heavily influenced by 80s AOR, with the album exploring themes of loss, realisation and moving forward.
Vanishing Point have never been a band in a hurry. Their albums arrive when they're ready and sometimes years can pass between them. But when one of Australia's most respected melodic metal bands finally emerges with new music, it's an event.
Six years after Dead Elysium marked their triumphant return following another lengthy absence, Vanishing Point are back.
Their seventh studio album, Eremition, will be released worldwide on November 20, and today the Melbourne melodic metal veterans reveal its first taste, Bring Me The Night.

Long term guitarist Chris Porcianko says of the first track, "Bring Me The Night is about not letting other people’s negative emotions and actions steer your direction in life. It’s high energy, heavy, and very melodic, with a big 80's AOR influence, all presented in the characteristic Vanishing Point style."
On Eremition and the long wait between drinks, Porcianko adds, “for us as a band, it’s always been quality over quantity. When the quality is there, that’s when it's the right time to put it out into the world. We feel we owe it to ourselves and to our fans everywhere to bring something truly special to light, something that sits perfectly within the long legacy that Vanishing Point has.
Eremition is in many ways an album about loss, gain, realisation, understanding, letting go, and moving forward without holding onto the negative energies that sometimes complicate our lives. We hope that these songs bring a little solace and connection to all our incredible fans out there.”
For longtime fans, new Vanishing Point music carries a particular weight. Three decades into their career, the band have never flooded the market or chased release cycles for the sake of remaining visible. Instead, each chapter has been allowed to arrive in its own time. They also became the first unsigned Australian band to perform at Wacken Open Air, long before Australian heavy music enjoyed the international profile it does today.
