The Shadow’s Gone Out: Sous La Pluie (Under The Rain)

French instrumental industrial rock duo THE SHADOW’S GONE OUT return with the evocative new single, Sous La Pluie, a powerful sonic journey that finds beauty, tension and resilience beneath storm-filled skies.

Translating to ‘Under the Rain’, Sous La Pluie showcases the band’s signature fusion of thunderous bass lines, driving percussion, atmospheric electronics and cinematic post-rock textures. The track unfolds like a soundtrack to a forgotten film, moving between moments of haunting reflection and explosive intensity, capturing the emotional weight of standing alone in the rain while finding strength within the chaos.

Hailing from Tours, France, THE SHADOW’S GONE OUT have carved out a distinctive place within the industrial and instrumental rock landscape. Consisting of drummer and programmer Julien Nourtier and bassist Anthony Enault, the duo create expansive, immersive soundscapes without relying on traditional lead vocals or guitars, allowing rhythm, atmosphere and emotion to take centre stage. Their music draws influence from industrial rock, post-rock, synthwave and underground alternative scenes on both sides of the Atlantic.

With Sous La Pluie, the band continue to push their sound into darker and more cinematic territory. Pulsing electronic elements weave through relentless rhythms, creating a track that feels equally at home in an underground club, a post-apocalyptic film score or a solitary late-night drive through rain-soaked streets.

The release further cements THE SHADOW’S GONE OUT as one of France’s most intriguing instrumental acts, proving that powerful storytelling can exist without a single spoken word.

Sous La Pluie is available now on streaming platforms worldwide.
