Pinky Beecroft returns with Lonesome Wolf, his first album in 17 years, recorded and produced by Damian Cafarella in Melbourne. The soul-and-twang record features Beecroft on vocals and keys alongside Cafarella on multiple instruments, with guest vocals from Queenie and a cover of The Rolling Stones' "Wild Horses".
After a seventeen-year recording hiatus, Pinky Beecroft returns with Lonesome Wolf, a new album recorded and produced in Melbourne by Damian Cafarella (The Pleasures, The White Russians). Listen here.
Blending soul & twang, Lonesome Wolf features Pinky on vocals, piano, Rhodes, and Mellotron, alongside multi-instrumentalist Cafarella, who contributes guitars, bass, banjo, drums, percussion, mellotron, and more.

The album includes the singles "Band Of Gold", featuring Queenie, and 'I'll Be Alright', alongside Pinky's take of the Ben Salter-penned "My Heart Is In The Wrong Place".
Also featured on the record is a new version of the MGF hit, "Unsent Letter"(with Gabrielle Parker on backups), as well as a distinctive cover of The Rolling Stones’ "Wild Horses", again featuring Queenie.
Of the album, Pinky says:
"There is a definite sound to this record. A fairly consistent sound palette across the whole album. Everything is played live, in one room, two people. It's an intimate kind of sound. The drums are restrained, there's baritone guitar, banjo, piano, some Rhodes, some Mellotron. It's understated. We tried really hard to put things only where they might be needed. We wanted it to have some space to breathe. This is not a big, in-your-face pop record -- it's a million miles away from that. It's more like a late-night record. Or perhaps a lazy, sunny afternoon album."
"The obvious question is.... why? That's the question I ask myself, a lot. And why now? Well, because I just made a record that I love. It doesn't happen very often to me - that things work out exactly the way I want, that the feel is right, the songs sound the way I imagined. This one feels very different -- it's the record I've wanted to make, for a long time."
Lonesome Wolf is out now on Bandcamp (available on limited-edition Vinyl) and on all streaming platforms.
