New Music From Axe And The Ivory – Out Today

By Markus Hamence

‘Give It All To Me’ by Axe and The Ivory is OUT on the 27th of September on all streaming platforms, coinciding with the bands’ first headlining East Coast shows, and performances at Semaphore and Wingham Music Festivals in October.

Give It All To Me is written by Ben Lovell, and performed by Axe and The Ivory. “It’s about waiting and hoping for someone to magically appear. But then when they do, hoping you don’t waste the chance. And if you do, hoping a second chance will magically appear again!”

‘Give It All To Me’ sees the band expand into Country Music territory with this new track, in addition to the Indie-Folk sounds the band is becoming known for.

Described as a “songwriting force”, Axe and The Ivory have been building groundswell from their hometown of Adelaide over the past years releasing a consistent series of catchy singles that cover a “vignette of love’s complex tapestries”. The band has

unleashed songs including ‘Stevie’, ‘Strangers’, ‘Pinball Machine’, and the glorious ‘Find It’ on local live audiences, and performances at Woodford, Fleurieu, and Cygnet Folk Festivals.

With that, there’s been support at radio with spins across Double J, community and local stations, and streaming love on a bunch of playlists across Spotify and Apple Music.

The now 5-piece outfit which comprisesBen Lovell (guitar, vocals), Rosie Roberts (guitar, keys, vocals), Paul Cooper (banjo), Mark Oosterveld (bass, vocals) and James Lovell (drums) has found accolades as a finalist in the Festival of Original Music, semi-finalists in the Australia wide ‘Listen Up Music Songwriting Prize’ and three-time semi-finalists in the Nashville based ‘Unsigned Only’ songwriting competition. They’ve supported acts including Jordie Lane, John Flanagan, and Germein.

Axe and The Ivory are a bunch of best mates who grew up playing music together. They are bound to attract fans of the Barr Brothers, Anais Mitchell, Paper Kites, Camille Trail, Fleet Foxes, Phoebe Bridgers and Gregory Alan Isakov, and will instantly capture attention with their two lead vocalists, enchanting harmonies, and rich guitar and banjo melodies!
