Australia’s original Queen of Pop, Marcia Hines, has announced the reissue of her most successful album release, Discothèque, to celebrate it’s 20th Anniversary and including three new tracks, on her Midnight Records label distributed through Community Music.

The 20th Anniversary reissue is available for pre-order now and will include six additional tracks – a new live recording of Never Knew Love Like This Before, previously unreleased remixes of You To Me Are Everything and Never Knew Love Like This Before from Brisbane based artist/producer Lukae, two Velvetcast recordings (Boogie Wonderland and It’s Raining Men) and Sgt Slick’s remix of I’ve Got the Music In Me.

Never Knew Love Like This Before (2026 Remix) is the lead single from the Discothèque 20th Anniversary Edition. A reworking the most-streamed track from the original Gold-certified, ARIA Top 10 album (2.53m Spotify streams alone) is out now on all streaming services. Click here to watch the video.

The Anniversary edition of Discothèque will be released on Friday, 30 October and is available for digital pre-order from here.

Discothèque was a career highlight for Marcia, and it’s reissue brings back all the memories: “I’ve always believed that great music never really gets old, it just finds a new way to make you feel something. When we made Discothèque twenty years ago, it was about joy, great songs and getting people on the dancefloor, and twenty years later those songs still do exactly that. I love that these new remixes give the music a new life without losing what made the songs special in the first place. Discothèque was about joy then, and it’s about joy now. So let’s get back on the dancefloor.”

The Discothèque release coincides with return a number of albums and singles to Marcia’s Midnight Records label and currently includes Discothèque, Life, Marcia Sings Tapestry, Love Sides and Velvet (The Original Cast Recording). Negotiations are ongoing for several more releases to be returned to the fold.

These releases mark a new chapter in Marcia’s incredible 5+ decade career. Her stellar career as a theatre performer, singer, TV presenter, judge and mentor now includes Label Boss of Midnight Records which will oversee her own releases as well as seek collaborations with up and coming artists and performers.

“I’ve been making records for a long time, and every album represents a different time in my life and a different part of my journey. I’ve always believed in moving forward and allowing the music to keep evolving, so there’s something really special about bringing these five albums together under Midnight Records, in partnership with Community Music”, Marcia said. “The music and the stories are still there, but now we have an opportunity to give the catalogue a new life and introduce it to new audiences along the way. Reinvention has always been important to me. You honour where you’ve been, but you keep moving forward. It feels really good to have these albums together under our own banner, and there’s plenty more to come.”

Dan Nascimento from Community Music added, “We are honoured to be supporting Australia’s Queen of Pop and her label Midnight Records. Community Music exists to enhance artist independence, and to be able to collaborate and empower the independence of one of Australia’s most iconic, important and prolific recording artists and performers is something we’re incredibly grateful for.”

Marcia Hines’ career spans an incredible five decades. She has released 22 albums, selling 2.6 million copies, and has garnered countless chart-topping singles and multi-platinum records globally. She received the Order of Australia (AM) in 2009 for her services to the Australian Entertainment Industry as a performer, judge and mentor and to the community through a range of charitable organisations. She has performed on stages of every size, been inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame, and her ongoing role as a judge on Australian Idol across 10 seasons has won her another generation of young fans.

Long may the Queen reign!
