Australian artist Katy Tunbridge unveiled an exhilarating album titled Skin Deep on October 11, 2024 via her imprint Katy Tunbridge Music. A testimony to how Australia’s thriving indie music scene is soaring across global thresholds, Katy recently landed a nomination for the prestigious Hollywood Independent Music Awards in the Alternative Category for her potent song ‘Lying Through Your Teeth’, taken from the Skin Deep LP. She will be performing Skin Deep’s focus track ‘Superhero’ live for the World Entertainment Awards ceremony in Beverly Hills on January 31st, 2025 – the track is up for the Best Pop Song award, and Katy is nominated in four other categories.
Katy Tunbridge is a highly accomplished singer-songwriter, musician and producer who boasts over 30 years of experience in the music, TV, and film industries. Katy has collaborated with an impressive roster of industry professionals, such as Bruce Watson (Foreigner), Peewee Hill (Sly Stone), and Grammy-nominated producer Billy Smiley (Johnny Cash, Clay Aiken). Notable highlights of her career include her recent nomination and collaborations with major labels like Warner Bros. Corp and Sony Orchard. Her music is recorded at world-class studios, including The Sound Kitchen Studios, The Castle Recording Studios and Peter Frampton’s Studio Phenix, and mixed by industry icons like Steven Williamson and Billy Whittington.

Skin Deep is an invigorating odyssey through many genres and emotions. The energising pop-rock opener ‘Grab The Wheel’ awakens the listener with its electrifyingly upbeat mood, while the titular track is a deeply sincere and soulful ballad, showcasing Katy’s dynamic range in expression and ability to seamlessly move between genres. The album flits gracefully between anthemic power on the likes of the focus track ‘Superhero’ and introspective passion on songs like ‘Naked To The Bone’ and ‘Slow Motion’. Pleasant surprises include the laid back reggae of ‘Living the Dream’ and both an English and Spanish version of the ballad of betrayal ‘Lying Through Your Teeth’ that earned Katy her well-deserved Hollywood Independent Music Awards nomination. Additionally, she has received four nominations for The World Entertainment Awards taking place in Beverley Hills next year. ‘Superhero’ received a nomination for Best Pop Song, ‘Grab The Wheel’ was nominated for Best Americana Song, while ‘Lying Through Your Teeth’ received a nomination for Best Alternative Song, and Katy received a nomination for Best Newcomer.
