GRUB return with Stability Please and The Floor from self-titled debut

Fremantle five-piece GRUB release two new tracks, Stability Please and The Floor, ahead of their self-titled debut album due October 9, 2026 via Wing Sing Records. Fronted by Matilda Beales, the band celebrate the album's release with a hometown launch at Perth's Mojos Bar on Saturday 10 October.
Following the massive response to lead single Shake It, which was added to full rotation on triple j and picked up airplay nationwide, Fremantle five-piece GRUBreturn with two new cuts from their forthcoming self-titled debut album:

Fronted by songwriter and lyricist Matilda Beales, GRUB features Peter Bibby on drums, Edo Ekic on bass, and guitarists Duncan Strachan and Mitch McDonald.
“Stability Please is about getting off the grog,” explains Beales, “riding the highs of early sobriety and hoping to hell you might finally become a stable human being”.
The track captures GRUB at their most hopeful, while retaining Beales’ trademark honesty and revealing the tenderness beneath all that noise.
“The Floor” carries a different weight. Beales wrote the song as a motivational speech to herself while undergoing chemotherapy in 2021. It grew out of the time she spent lying on her bedroom floor, placing her own difficult experiences alongside those faced by the people around her.
Together, the tracks widen the frame on a nine-song debut concerned with the beautiful mess of being human. At its centre is Beales’ darkly funny, brutally honest songwriting and fierce, unfiltered delivery.
GRUB will celebrate the album’s release with a hometown launch at Perth's Mojos Bar on Saturday 10 October, joined by Doctopus and Great Statue.
GRUB first caught the attention of The Peep Tempel’s Blake Scott, who pulled his car over on the Fremantle bridge after hearing one of their early singles on RTRFM so he could catch the back announcement. The chance discovery led to a support slot on The Peep Tempel’s recent Tales 10th anniversary shows and, ultimately,
a home with Wing Sing Records.
