BILLIE-JO PORTER CELEBRATES LIFE'S LITTLE PLEASURES WITH UPBEAT NEW SINGLE 'FEELS GOOD TO FEEL GOOD'
Billie-Jo Porter is bringing a little sunshine to the airwaves with her bouncy new single, ‘Feels Good to Feel Good’ – out today. Blending alternative country with a playful upbeat energy, the track is a timely reminder to slow down, appreciate the little things and make the most of the life you've got.
Co-written with fellow storyteller Gretta Ziller, ‘Feels Good to Feel Good’ finds Billie-Jonavigating the pressures of everyday life with a refreshingly light-hearted outlook. From self-doubt and burnout to good hair days and long holidays, the song celebrates the simple pleasures that make life worthwhile, while posing one wonderfully optimistic question: what if everything turned out just right?

"When Gretta Ziller and I wrote 'Feels Good to Feel Good', we were talking about how living a good life comes down to doing what makes you happy - even simple things like putting effort into having a great hair day! There’s a line in the song that says, 'we are all going to die someday anyways,' and if you live your life by some of the quotes from people like Willie Nelson and Oprah, everything is going to be ok. It’s all about putting out good energy and backing yourself.”
Produced by multi award winning Shane Nicholson (Beccy Cole, Lyn Bowtell, Tori Forsyth) at Monkey Jump Productions, ‘Feels Good to Feel Good’ pairs Billie-Jo’swarm, unmistakable vocals with a laid-back country groove and a subtly psychedelic edge.
"Working with Shane Nicholson on this track was another fantastic experience. Shane has this incredible ability to take the heart of a song and elevate it without ever losing its original magic or authenticity. He brought so much warmth and energy to the recording process, and you can tell he sprinkled a bit of magic into the track”.
The release follows the singer-songwriter’s previous single, ‘Look to the Good Things’, which continued her impressive run at Australian country radio, reaching #39 on the Countrytown Hot 50 Airplay Chart, #14 on the Country Songs Top 40 Australian Airplay Chart and #11 on the AMRAP Community Radio Regional Airplay Chart.
With more than 400,000 global streams to her name, Billie-Jo has steadily established herself as one of Australian country music's most uplifting voices, with her self-titled debut album reaching #4 on the ARIA Country Albums Chart.
Away from the studio, Billie-Jo has enjoyed a busy year on the road, performing at some of the biggest events on the Aussie country music calendar including Gympie Music Muster, Deni Ute Muster, Meatstock and Tamworth Country Music Festival. Having previously shared stages with the likes of Pete Murray, Tim Freedman and Melanie Dyer, she's built a reputation for her engaging live performances, vibrant personality and colourful stage outfits, which she designs and decorates herself.
"We have had such an incredible year so far with so many amazing shows and festivals, and I’m thrilled to keep that momentum rolling. Getting out on stage and playing live - connecting face-to-face with people who genuinely love music - is easily the best part of this whole journey. I can't wait to get back out there, share these new songs, and feel that energy in the room together."
With its easy-going groove, infectious melody and a healthy dose of perspective, ‘Feels Good to Feel Good’ is another joyful offering from an artist who knows that sometimes the best way forward is to simply slow down and enjoy the ride.
