Style & Spirit: The Fashion of Chester Weinberg | 8 November 2024 – 25 January 2025

Hosted by David Roche Gallery, Style & Spirit celebrates the inspiring creativity of American couturier Chester Weinberg (1930–1985). His considered and comfortable clothes were highly sought after, until his career was cut short when he died from AIDS-related illness in 1985.

Three mannequins display vintage 1960s dresses in brown, coral and grey with coordinating accessories against a neutral background.

In this glamorous celebration of style, co-curators Skye Bartlett and Timothy Roberts have selected more than 50 of Weinberg’s best creations from the 1950s to 1980s. These are displayed alongside pieces by his contemporaries Cristóbal Balenciaga, Christian Dior, Pierre Cardin, and André Courrèges.

See the fashion, learn his story.
