South Australian Dance and Visual Art Come Together in The Leftovers at Adelaide Festival Centre

Following a sold-out world premiere at Adelaide Fringe 2022, award-winning Motus Collective, created by Felicity Boyd and Zoe Gay, bring The Leftovers to Adelaide Festival Centre’s Space Theatre this October with tickets on sale today.

The Leftovers is a contemporary dance performance intertwining dynamic movement with visual art, featuring several haunting seven-foot sculptures by Adelaide multidisciplinary sculptural artist Nicholas Hanish.

The show explores themes of identity, memory, and transformation through virtuosic choreography by Zoe Gay with four dancers and a captivating sound score by award-winning Adelaide sound designer Alix Kuijpers. It delves into what it means to be human, questioning the elements that shape a person and what they leave behind.

Co-Founder of Motus Collective Felicity Boyd: Motus Collective are incredibly proud to be presenting our first major work at Adelaide Festival Centre. We are made up entirely of South Australian collaborators and are so excited to showcase the state’s vibrant home-grown talent.

Growing up in South Australia, Adelaide Festival Centre was always an aspirational performance venue – a place where the best of the best performed. To now count ourselves part of that legacy is extremely special for us.”
