One of South Australia’s leading baroque ensemble Adelaide Cantata Band invites Adelaide audiences to experience two incredible masterworks from the king of sacred music, Johann Sebastian Bach in Hope and Triumph on Friday 7 November 2025 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
Under the artistic direction of Andrew Georg this concert features an outstanding ensemble of singers and musicians on authentic baroque period instruments. In a major coup for local music lovers the performance will feature special guest artists in Melbourne-based bass- baritone Nicholas Dinopoulos and Runa Baagøe on baroque violin.
The program features Bach’s iconic cantatas, Wachet auf, ruft uns die Stimme (BWV 140), with its beloved chorale “Sleepers, Wake,” and Ein feste Burg ist unser Gott (BWV 80), a stirring work for Reformation Day. The concert is the ultimate celebration of Bach baroque brilliance for one night only.
According to Andrew Georg engaging with the music of Bach is always a significant event on the Adelaide Cantata Band’s calendar.

November also marks an eventful period for Adelaide Cantata Band with a subset of the group performing at Chamber Music Adelaide’s ‘On the Terrace’ on 2 November. The ensemble will also be appearing as part of free church services on 9 and 30 November.
