Most Memorable Adelaide Experience: After becoming a huge fan during his time as the villian Finn Kelly on Neighbours getting the chance to meet Rob Mills after one of his shows in Adelaide is one of my highlights.
Zoe is a South Australian arts and entertainemt guru for BUT also assistant teacher and and specialised student teacher at an acting and dance studio (Actors Ink & Essential Talent). Her goal is to inspire her students to became the best they can be, love what they do and have a confidence in their acting.
Zoe has been acting and dancing since the age of two. She has a zest for life and believes in living life to the fullest.
Can you share a bit about your background and what brought you to Adelaide?
I was born and raised in Adelaide.
What are your interests outside of reviewing arts and entertainment?
My interest is making my mainstream and specialised students have a film career in their future AND going to see all of my favourite ever musicals in Hairspray, Aladdin, Moulin Rouge, Chicago and Grease.
What’s your favourite thing about living in Adelaide?
My fav thing about living in Adelaide is spending time with my family.
Do you have a personal mantra or philosophy that guides your work?
My Actors Ink family guides and motivates me – And remind me to ‘Love What You Do!’
Who or what inspires you most in life?
Markus has inspired me the most because he made my arts and entertainment guru celebrity life come true this year.
What’s a surprising or fun fact about you that not many people know?
I always believe in myself every single day.
What’s your ideal way to spend a weekend in Adelaide?
My ideal way is to spend my weekend is meeting celebrities.
If you could only recommend one place to visit in Adelaide, what would it be?
I recommend going to the city CBD because there are so many things you can do.
What’s a favourite book, movie, or song that resonates with you?
My favourite song is Michael Jackson’s The Way You Make Me Feel & Thriller.
What advice would you give to someone looking to explore arts and entertainment in Adelaide?
My advice is to explore the passion of arts and entertainment and the rhythm of the music.
What inspired your passion for arts and entertainment in Adelaide?
Arts and entertainment can be inspires a world of many emotions in my life-style, like the way I love to dance and sing.
What’s your favourite event or venue in Adelaide?
My favourite event is going to Markus Presents shows, I’m always guaranteed to meet the stars.
How do you approach reviewing local arts and entertainment?
When I review I go by how the show or the song makes me feel.
What’s been your most memorable arts experience in Adelaide so far?
By Being on the same stage at the Festival Centre where Bert Newton was standing for Wicked for aa photo-shoot for the ‘Women in Arts’ book
Do you have a specific focus area, like music, theatre, visual arts, or festivals?
I am more a theatre woman because I have an passion of becoming an actress in films when I am older.
How do you stay connected with the local creative community?
By going and posting things on social media like Instagram because that’s how I express my self in the community and reviewing on ZOOM.
If you could interview any artist or performer, who would it be and why?
I have to say between Todd McKenney or Peter Rowsthorn (from Kath and Kim).
What’s your go-to spot in Adelaide for creative inspiration or relaxation?
My go to spot in Adelaide totally has to be Adelaide Festival Theatre, that’s where I meet at the celebrities. Or, the Japanese Himeji Gardens on South Terrace in Adelaide.
How do you see the arts and entertainment scene evolving in Adelaide over the next few years?
I think its going to be more exciting and more interesting in the next year. Soooo many things are happening.
