About the show:
Caffeine Fiend is a warm, witty, and musically rich exploration of coffee culture, creativity, and the chaotic grind of trying to make art – and a life – in a world that never stops moving. It’s a show for anyone who’s ever clung to a cup for comfort, clarity, or connection. The music is fabulous
With arrangements from the oh so talented David Goodwin, Charlee reimagines the music of artists like Nat King Cole, Nina Simone, Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald and Chappell Roan – blending timeless jazz and soul classics with sharp original storytelling and a hit of humour.
With David Goodwin as MD on keys and the same brilliant band of Christina Guala-Goodwin, Lewis Todd and Declan Horan, this is a Cabaret with storytelling, and the kind of energy you might remember from Beating Up The Beatles.
This premiere marks the next bold step in Charlee’s artistic journey. Supported by the ACF BOOST program and directed by Brock Roberts of State Opera with movement coaching by the amazing Fafi D’Alour, Caffeine Fiend brings together a brilliant band and a lot of heart.
There’s even a themed bar at each show – yes, there will be Espresso Martinis.
