A songwriting collaboration between Rob Snarski (Blackeyed Susans) and Lindy Morrison (Go-Betweens), SnarskiCircusLindyBand marks the first time that Morrison has recorded her own compositions
Two December Sydney shows for SnarskiCircusLindyBand, the new songwriting collaboration between Rob Snarski (Blackeyed Susans) and Lindy Morrison (Go-Betweens), are now on sale. The shows will complete a run starting in Adelaide in October to launch their forthcoming debut album “what’s said and what’s left unsaid”. See below for further details.
SnarskiCircusLindyBand is a fully-fledged band which sees Snarski and Morrison joined by friends Graham Lee (Triffids), Shane O’Mara (Silversound et al) and Dan Kelly (Alpha Males, Paul Kelly). The band marks the first time that Lindy Morrison has recorded her own compositions, and the new single “The Dying Conversation” hangs on particular powerful – yet surprisingly bright – musing on death, grief and loss.
THE DYING CONVERSATION
What do you think she said
holding her drink
On beats and songs in my head I said
And what do you think after that she asked
I think on people who have
gone, gone with the dead
And what do you think then when you die,
What will be left? What will be left?
I said, some will be sad and
some will forget
That I had a life of ridiculous fun
Of ridiculous fun
So, dying won’t make
them sad for too long
What’s happening then
a tear down her face
I’ll just step out and not come back
And what do I do her face with a frown
Just take me up north to a flame tree town
I’ll go in the ground when you find the plot
With the rest of us that time has forgot
Some will be sad and some will forget
That I had a life of ridiculous fun
Much to recall, don’t you forget
That I had a life of ridiculous fun
So, dying won’t make
them sad for too long
No dying won’t make them sad for too long
