From the raw, heartfelt strums of a lone acoustic guitar in a Californian bedroom to global stages filled with thousands singing his lyrics, John Vesely, better known as Secondhand Serenade, has carved a legacy that is undeniable. Hard work and raw emotion are a given, but it’s Vesely’s undeniable talent as a songwriter, vocalist and performer, paired with an unrelenting connection to his fans, that sets him far above.
In the 20 years since releasing the debut album, Awake, Secondhand Serenade has become a cornerstone of the emo-pop movement. Vesely’s soul-baring anthems strike at the heart and are the soundtrack and voice to many of the MySpace generation.
Secondhand Serenade’s live performances are a tidal wave of feelings. Vulnerability, hope and angst all set against an array of soaring melodies and the kind of authenticity that leaves you spellbound. From the multiple platinum anthems Fall For You, Your Call and Maybe, to more recent tracks like Find Somebody Else, Edge Of A Riot, and Not Enough, Vesely’s shows are a journey through love, loss and redemption.
And what better way to experience the full emotional odyssey of these peerless songs than with a backing orchestral string section!
