DYGL (pronounced “Day-glo”) – Japan’s Indie Rock Vanguard Comes to Australia

The Tokyo four-piece, whose debut album was produced by Albert Hammond Jr of The Strokes, make their long-awaited down under debut in January
Hailing from Tokyo, DYGL (pronounced “Day-glo”) are one of Japan’s most vital and internationally acclaimed indie rock bands. Formed in 2012, the four-piece has built a global following with their raw energy, heartfelt lyrics, and a sound that fuses indie rock and 2000s garage revival with a uniquely Japanese sensitivity.
Having had Albert Hammond Jr. of The Strokes produce their debut album and having toured across UK, Europe, Asia, and the US, DYGL are no strangers to international stages. Their dynamic live shows—equal parts cathartic and melodic—have earned them comparisons to The Libertines, The Cribs, and early Arctic Monkeys, but with a voice and vision that’s entirely their own.
While rooted in indie rock, their music often channels the raw immediacy of punk and the grit of garage rock, adding extra edge to their already powerful sound. With four full-length albums under their belt and a new wave of fans behind them, DYGL will make their long-awaited Australian debut in January 2026 with their East Coast ‘Who’s In The House’ tour, which takes its name from their new album. For fans of sharp hooks, emotional urgency, and honest, electrifying rock’n’roll, DYGL are a band not to miss.
