Little Circus and Impact bring four decades of young South Australian artistry to the stage

The South Australian Children’s Ballet Company (SACBC) celebrates its 40th Anniversary Season these October school holidays with a special double bill showcasing two contrasting works from its treasured repertoire.

For four decades, SACBC has nurtured young dancers and provided opportunities to develop artistry, confidence and performance skills. This milestone season honours that history while looking to the future with works that span imagination, theatricality and the changing world around us.

Little Circus transports audiences to a whimsical French village, where mademoiselles and their chaperone arrive at the circus for an afternoon of wonder. Magicians, acrobats, tight-rope walkers, clowns, musicians and fortune tellers bring this colourful and playful ballet to life in a celebration of character, spectacle and imagination.

In contrast, Impact turns its focus to the South Australian landscape. Inspired by the environmental challenges experienced across the state in recent years, including bushfires, sand erosion, drought and floods, the work explores fragility, resilience and our relationship with the natural world through powerful choreography.

Together, the works offer an engaging celebration of 40 years of youth artistry, creativity and community, performed by the talented young dancers of SACBC.
