THE CAST, one of Adelaide’s leading events bands, is bringing back their signature spark after the roaring success of 80’S LADIES and SO FRESH! HITS OF THE 2000s.

After two sell-out, award-winning seasons in 2024 and 2025, SO FRESH! HITS OF THE 2000s will return to the Adelaide Fringe in 2026, running for two weeks from Tuesday, 24th February to Sunday, 8th March.
Led by Chloe Castledine, and co-featuring Joshua Angeles and THE CAST band, this will be one epic celebration of some of the biggest hits that made the So Fresh compilation CDs in the noughties… let’s not pretend we don’t have a few of these still hanging around!
Castledine leads a 10-piece ensemble – including the Impact Entertainment dancers – with THE CAST reimagining and bringing to life all the top noughties bangers in a spectacular, hair-raising way! Think all the hits from teen pop sensations like Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake, through to rock bands Good Charlotte and JET – and not forgetting all the other genres in between.
Let’s be clear, this is not a pub gig. This is one “full-blown, immersive glitter-drenched, choreographed Y2K explosion!”, and with endless iconic tunes birthed out of the early 2000s, this show promises to jam pack in as many as it possibly can.
“It’s unbelievable that these songs are now considered ‘retro’ because there’s no doubt most of these tunes are now on our Spotify playlists”, laughs Castledine. “Nothing screams the noughties more than a ‘So Fresh’ compilation CD that you probably bought at a Sanity store, with the money you earned from working at Maccas.”
Castledine, of course, draws inspiration from her teenage years for SO FRESH! HITS OF THE 2000s: “I grew up wanting so badly to be a pop-star, so as a young adult stepping into Y2K, artists like Christina Aguilera, Kelly Clarkson, The Veronicas, and bands like Evanescence and Coldplay, really lit a fire in me and fuelled that desire. But who had the cash to spend on each album? Those ‘So Fresh’ CDs were a lifesaver. The music of that day shaped my whole career”, shares Castledine.
Usually busy producing and directing the show “Civic Park Carols”, as well as managing THE CAST, Chloe Castledine stepped out and entered the Fringe scene in 2022 with her independent breakout show WONDERFULL! A CELEBRATION OF STEVIE WONDER. Following its success, she continued in 2023 and 2024 with her shows: 80’S LADIES and SO FRESH! Teaming up with Music Director, David Goodwin, and choreographer Shenayde Patterson, this show has scored more than ten five-star reviews, two sell-out seasons, and took home the prestigious Sarah Rohrsheim Fringe Fellowship Award – an accolade designed to recognise and support producers who demonstrate extraordinary potential and vision in their craft.
Gather your friends, family, kids, and neighbours and prepare to take a trip back to the noughties, with a stunning visual and musical performance packed with excitement and vivid nostalgia!
