Fronted by award-winning Adelaide performer Rohan Watts and backed by his talented live band, the show celebrates one of the biggest hitmakers of the 1980s, with classics including The Power of Love, Hip to Be Square, Stuck With You, If This Is It, I Want a New Drug and The Heart of Rock & Roll.

The concert comes in a milestone year for Huey Lewis and the News, marking 40 years since the release of their multi-platinum album Fore!. Released in 1986, the album delivered some of the band's most enduring hits, including Stuck With You, Jacob's Ladder and Hip to Be Square, cementing their place in pop-rock history.

“We're definitely leaning into the anniversary of Fore!, because those songs are such a big part of the soundtrack of the 80s,” says Watts. “But there's so much more to Huey Lewis and the News than the big radio hits. They've got an incredible catalogue of music, and we've got a great live band to bring those songs to life.”

Following its Adelaide Fringe debut in 2025 and return season in 2026, Have You Heard The News? brings its infectious mix of rock, pop, soul and rhythm and blues to Port Noarlunga for a night of live music, nostalgia and plenty of audience participation.

Rather than relying on impersonation or parody, the production celebrates the songs, arrangements and musicianship that made Huey Lewis and the News one of the most popular bands of their era.

“One of the things I love about this music is how well it works live,” says Watts. “The songs are great, the arrangements are fantastic, and there's a real sense of fun about the whole thing. We want people singing along, getting involved and having a brilliant night out.”

From the Back to the Future anthem The Power of Love to the infectious grooves of I Want a New Drug, audiences can expect a concert packed with familiar favourites, a few surprises and the unmistakable sound of a great live band.
