Review by Markus Hamence – Performance date: Thursday 14 August 2025. Adelaide Entertainment Centre, Norwood, South Australia
The scene: Perched under the Adelaide Entertainment Centre’s neon glow (huddled against the heaters, ‘cos it’s COLD!) on 14 August 2025, primed for one thing only – The Australian Bee Gees Show: Feel The Fever Tour. It’s a slick, bangin’ set-list, disco revival that promises all the silky satin, falsetto magic, and infectious grooves that made the Brothers Gibb… well, iconic. And let me tell you all, it delivered with enough sparkle to make even Studio 54 jealous.

Fear not, disco devotees, this wasn’t a local tribute act in wigs and wishful thinking. These fellas have clocked over 6,500 performances in more than 55 countries, and they’ve been dazzling punters with a long-running Vegas residency at the Excalibur, so yes – this is the real tribute deal. The ‘Feel The Fever’ tour came packed with high production values, tight musicianship, and a lot of heart. Not just an homage – it was a proper Saturday night fever dream with a hint of glitter-induced nostalgia.
“It was like the falsetto fairy had granted every wish. Nailed it.”
– Markus Hamence
Kicking off with a fraction of ‘You Should Be Dancing’, the show immediately catapulted us back to 1976. And before I could say ‘“’boogie shoes’, we were knee-deep in a medley of classics – ‘Night Fever’, ‘More Than a Woman’, ‘How Deep Is Your Love’, and the downright heartbreaking ‘How Can You Mend a Broken Heart’, Vocals were on point – Michael Clift, Alex Fextco, and Wayne Hosking glided effortlessly through those unmistakable harmonies. It was like the falsetto fairy had granted every wish. Nailed it.
‘Jive Talkin” got the crowd clapping, grooving, and proving that yes, disco still lives deep within the Adelaide soul. And if ‘You Should Be Dancing’ didn’t excite you as the teaser at the beginning, it had you out of your seat and dancing for the encore! Even the ushers were tapping toes.
Visually it was delicious. in the best possible way. The three guys spread out across the stage with band behind while the lighting set the scene for each track. For moments, it really felt like Barry, Robin and Maurice were on stage before us, breaking out in harmony.
“Because friends, this wasn’t just another rolled-out tribute. It was a resurrection of classics.” – Markus Hamence
The night unfolded in two acts: the first, a turbo-charged nostalgia fest; the second, a more immersive experience that played with memory and homage, wrapping us in a warm, shimmering cocoon of retro bliss. It was thoughtfully structured and well-paced – the only song I missed was Barry and Bab’s ‘Guilty’, but you can’t have everything right?!.
The crowd was into it too. Dressed in their finest op-shop sparkle. The dancing spilled to the aisles with many nannas doing the Travolta shimmy, it was a glorious, glitter-laced fan mash-up.
Bottom line? The Australian Bee Gees Show gave Adelaide a dazzling night of falsetto fantasy, heart-thumping beats, and glittery escapism. If they swing back this way – and trust me, they better – grab your flares and book a seat. Because friends, this wasn’t just another rolled-out tribute. It was a resurrection of classics.
Thank goodness ‘What happens in Vegas’, ‘DOESN’T stay in Vegas’ this time round 🙂
