Human Nature MTWN 20 Tour

April 5, 2025

Review by Jeff Smith – Performance date April 2 2025, Adelaide Entertainment Centre

One of Australia’s most treasured musical acts and exports, Human Nature made its much-anticipated return to Adelaide this week with a world-class display of Vegas showmanship, showstopping harmonies and an arena production that brought Sin City to South Australia on a Wednesday night.

The occasion was a celebration of Motown and the 20th anniversary of the band’s foray into the genre, a move that would prove widely popular and mark the evolution of Human Nature from boy band to superstar vocal group.

Whether it’s a Motown or Human Nature classic – everyone has a memory and watching the songs unfold live take on a new life complete with stories and reflections from the band.

The Show

The night opened with a set from the Tierney Brothers, the new side project from Michael and Andrew Tierney (50% of Human Nature)

The brothers proudly launched a new musical chapter with their blend of infectious pop and acoustic tones winning over the already converted Human Nature audience. The scene was set perfectly for the headline attraction.

Human Nature hit the stage with the high-energy Get Ready, before swiftly moving through a parade of legendary tracks from the Motown songbook (You Can’t Hurry Love, Stand By Me and I’ll Be There)

Right from the first notes, the energy was epic with a cracking stage show and live band. It was immediately evident exactly why the band is now commanding the Vegas strip with their showmanship and vocals that seem to defy age and time.

Despite having performed over 3,000 shows in Vegas there was new and fresh and energy about this concert on home soil.

Highlights

The setlist was near perfect for any Human Nature fan leaning heavily on material from the bands Motown era. Tracks like Stop! In The Name of Love, Baby I Need Your Loving and Dancing In The Street united the audience and band in mass sing-alongs.

The band truly shone during acapella moments, where the focus was on those incredible harmonies. People Get Ready and The Tracks of My Tears reminded us why Human Nature are one of the greatest vocal quartets on the planet.

A nod to the 90’s boyband era was also welcomed with in-crowd renditions of Wishes and He Don’t Love You.

Final Thoughts

Human Nature live is pure entertainment at its finest. Every moment, song and move are designed to create joy, celebrate life and the power of music.

This concert did that on every level, with Human Nature cementing their position as global pop icons.

This reviewer and audience are hopeful for a 30-year anniversary of Motown and many more years of Human Nature.
