What’s your favorite thing about living in Adelaide?

It’s the perfect mix of vibrant city life, beautiful beaches, world class wineries just a short drive away, stunning parklands, amazing festivals like the Arts, Fringe and Womadelaide, a thriving food and coffee scene and the relaxed friendly atmosphere that makes it feel welcoming and special everyday.

Do you have a personal mantra or philosophy that guided you work?

My personal mantra is “I give my very best to every task knowing that care, attention to detail and genuine care for my clients makes all the difference.”

What are your interests outside of reviewing arts & entertainment?

Some of my interests are cooking, singing, and playing instruments like guitar, ukulele and piano. I also enjoy staying active with fitness, painting, gardening and tackling DIY projects around the house. Reading and riding my motorcycle are also passions of mine. I absolutely love my job as a hairdresser and the joy of working with my amazing clients. Honestly I’d love to do even more but there’s just not enough hours in the day.

Who or what inspires you most in life?

I’m inspired by individuals who embody resilience, mastery and relentless pursuit of excellence.

What’s your ideal way to spend a weekend in Adelaide?

My ideal weekend in Adelaide might start with a relaxing morning at one of the city’s vibrant cafes, enjoying a fresh coffee and a delicious breakfast.
Then take a stroll through the lush Adelaide Botanic Garden,
In the afternoon explore Adelaide Central Market for some local treats and artisanal products, or visit a nearby winery in the Adelaide hills for a wine tasting.
Finish the day by enjoying dinner at one of Adelaide’s top restaurants. On Sunday a leisurely motorcycle ride along the coast or to the nearby hills could be the perfect way to unwind before the week begins.

What’s a favourite book, movie, or song that resonates with you?

My favourite book would be “The Alchemist” by Paulo Coelho
My favourite movie would be “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty”
Favourite song has to be “Eye of the Tiger”

What advice would you give to someone looking to explore Arts and Entertainment in Adelaide.

I would advise them to dive into Adelaide’s rich cultural offerings by attending major events like Adelaide Arts Festival, Adelaide fringe and Womadelaide to experience a variety of performances.
Explore the Art gallery is South Australia for a deeper appreciation of art. Also to check out local galleries and street art to discover hidden gems, for music lovers check out venues like “The gov or Lions art factory.

If you could only recommend one place to visit in Adelaide, what would it be?

It would be Adelaide Central Market, It’s a vibrant hub of local food, culture and creativity.

What’s your favourite event or venue in Adelaide?

My Favourite event would be “The Adelaide Fringe”
A vibrant world renowned festival that celebrates the Arts with a mix of theatre, comedy, music and dance. It’s a time when the city truly comes alive with creativity and excitement.

How do you approach reviewing local arts and entertainment?

1. First impressions – What’s the initial atmosphere? Does the event or venue have a unique vibe?
2. Performance of Art quality – Assessing the skill creativity and effort behind the performance or art work. Focusing on detail like execution, technique and originality.
3. Audience engagement – How does the audience respond? Does the performance connect with them emotionally or intellectually?
4. Venue and Production value – Is the space well-suited for the event?
Considering lighting, sound, seating and accessibility.
5. Personal Reflection – Was the experience memorable, thought-provoking, or transformative.

My reviews would be honest yet constructive while always being mindful of the talent and effort involved.

If you could  interview any artist or performer, who would it be and why.

There are many, but the one that comes to mind is Nick Cave, whose work blends music, art and storytelling in deeply compelling ways. His approach to performance, songwriting, and visual art would offer fascinating insight into the creative process, precision, and the emotional depth behind his work.

What’s your Go-To-Spot in Adelaide for creative, inspiration or relaxation?

It would be “The AdelaideBotanic Gardens”
With its lush greenery, tranquil spaces, and stunning plant life, it offers a peaceful environment where you can reflect, recharge and spark  creativity.
