The track pairs heavy 1970s-inspired guitars with swaggering desert-rock riffs and garage-punk attitude, continuing the band's stripped-back approach to hard rock and psychedelia. --- **THE DATSUNS RELEASE NEW SINGLE 'GLIDE LIKE A GHOST'** **Taken from their forthcoming eighth album *****Moonstruck Man*** **Out November 13, 2026 via Hellsquad Records** **Limited Edition White Vinyl Available** **Alongside Standard Black Vinyl and CD.** [Watch on YouTube](https://youtu.be/yKcAWYRQfRQ?si=kN38oWH2OjP7lCyo) ![Five band members stand on stone steps beside a tall concrete tower under blue sky.](https://media.onyourmarkus.au/admin/2026/10/1128bb5f-8d39-4bb0-9bd2-466b4d89b9ed.jpg) With decades of rock 'n' roll behind them, New Zealand's **The Datsuns **continue to make music on their own terms. The first band out of the Southern Hemisphere to make waves on the early 2000s rock explosion (they toured with the **White Stripes, Queens of the Stone Age, Metallica** and others, and **John Paul Jones** from **Led Zeppelin** produced their second album!), their sound remains rooted in big riffs, scorching guitars and an instinct for the unpredictable, with the band bringing the same raw energy and unrestrained approach to their latest material. In September, the band announced their eighth studio album, ***Moonstruck Man***, alongside the release of its title track - a gloriously rambling slice of 1970s-inspired rock packed with wailing wah, scorching guitars, high-register vocals and flashes of prog and glam-rock eccentricity. The second taste of *Moonstruck Man* arrived with '**Run From The Sun**', a heavy, hypnotic and spacious slice of desert rock. Driven by a bluesy bassline and killer fuzz riffs, the track combined the chunky force of '70s hard rock with the dreamy, expansive atmosphere of psychedelia. Today, The Datsuns release '**Glide Like A Ghost**', the latest single from the forthcoming album. A high-energy blend of 1970s classic heavy metal, psychedelic rock and modern stoner rock, the track pairs raw, heavy guitars with swaggering desert-rock riffs, punchy garage-punk attitude and sharp, witty storytelling. A video for the new single is currently being shot in London and will be launched with the release of the album on **November 13**. ![Two figures in dark clothing walk down a narrow urban alleyway lined with brick buildings and metal railings.](https://media.onyourmarkus.au/admin/2026/10/24f45eb0-68d9-40bd-b0d5-24bcf38ddc70.png) ***Moonstruck Man*** was created across three countries and recorded at several studios throughout Sweden, including** Studio Gröndahl, Gold Halo, Kiki's Castle, Livingstone Boudoirs** and **Riddarborgen**. The Datsuns' current line-up features** Dolf de Borst **on lead vocals and bass, **Christian Livingstone** on guitar and vocals, **Phil Somervell **on guitar, and **Adam Lindmark **of Swedish hard-rock band **Dead Lord** on drums. Before the new album's release and following a run of New Zealand and Australian dates earlier in the year, **the DATSUNS **are currently on an extensive run of headline club shows and festival appearances in Europe.  Europe - well Sweden to be exact - being the current home of front Datsun **Dolf**, who for a good while now has simultaneously managed his Datsun duties with those of being **The Hellacopters'** bass man (and before that, with playing bass in head Hellacopter **Nicke Andersson**'s other high energy band, the hard rock power-popping **Imperial State Electric**.)  (And yes, that means we'll see **Dolf **down under again next year, when **The Hellacopters** return to Australia for the first time in 2003.) **The Datsuns**' eighth studio album, ***Moonstruck Man*** delivers another collection of driving, riff-heavy rock 'n' roll. It will be released on **November 13, 2026** via **Hellsquad Records**, with a limited edition white vinyl available alongside standard black vinyl and CD editions. **Pre-order now: ****[https://linktr.ee/thedatsuns](https://linktr.ee/thedatsuns)** [Watch on YouTube](https://youtu.be/lPuQ89yj_PE?si=NSoi9tKJ62VZA2Bk) [Watch on YouTube](https://youtu.be/MBJvb94JT-E?si=GidX7Pvj7q2eb82L) **THE DATSUNS** New Album ***Moonstruck Man*** Out November 13, 2026 via** Hellsquad Records** Distributed in Australia by **MGM** [mgmreleases.com/moonstruck-man](http://mgmreleases.com/moonstruck-man)  **Pre-order now: ****[https://linktr.ee/thedatsuns](https://linktr.ee/thedatsuns)** **FOLLOW THE DATSUNS ONLINE: ** **[WEBSITE](https://us.list-manage.com/zr7qXAQPvQ9?e=3758bcc5db&c2id=d8fc69bf59de4d11215c8d6988e0877f)****  / ****[FACEBOOK ](https://us.list-manage.com/5a9iIL1Z2Li?e=3758bcc5db&c2id=d8fc69bf59de4d11215c8d6988e0877f)****/ ****[INSTAGRAM](https://us.list-manage.com/tmFYQyCvM2L?e=3758bcc5db&c2id=d8fc69bf59de4d11215c8d6988e0877f)**** / ****[SPOTIFY ](https://us.list-manage.com/LNUNtIfGdoG?e=3758bcc5db&c2id=d8fc69bf59de4d11215c8d6988e0877f)****/ ****[YOUTUBE](https://us.list-manage.com/v3ukuk_5tZR?e=3758bcc5db&c2id=d8fc69bf59de4d11215c8d6988e0877f)**** / ****[BANDCAMP](https://us.list-manage.com/V94tQtRjA7Z?e=3758bcc5db&c2id=d8fc69bf59de4d11215c8d6988e0877f)** ![Hands cradling spheres of light emerging from a ghostly draped form against a starry black background.](https://media.onyourmarkus.au/admin/2026/10/d1438ea6-1e75-46f7-9639-7d2639f34eb0.jpg)
