# The Black Ridge Union chart addiction and survival on Overcome debut

The Black Ridge Union, a Dallas-based hard rock band, have released their new single In Ruin, the first track from their debut album Overcome, arriving March 26, 2027 via Australian label XMusic. The song explores addiction and self-destruction, with the album tackling themes of abuse, betrayal, war and isolation before charting a path toward survival.

Dallas, Texas hard rock outfit **The Black Ridge Union** have released their new single, ***In Ruin***, taken from the band's forthcoming new album, ***Overcome***, their first to be released via Australia's **XMusic**.

Combining the grit and groove of Southern rock with a heavier modern edge, The Black Ridge Union, or BRU, bring together massive guitars, melodic hooks and songs drawn from some very real places.

Built around addiction, regret and the cycle of repeating the same destructive choices, *In Ruin*captures the point where self awareness and self destruction collide, knowing exactly where the road is leading while still struggling to find a way off it.

The single introduces *Overcome*, an album that tackles addiction, abuse, betrayal, war, isolation and survival. Rather than dwell solely in those darker places, the album's title points towards the thread connecting them: coming through the other side.

Featuring **Shawn Michael Scotton** on lead vocals and guitar, **Kevin Mead **on lead guitar and backing vocals, **Jesse McCall** on bass and backing vocals, and **Kenny Sizelove** on drums, The Black Ridge Union formed in the Dallas–Fort Worth scene around a shared love of hard rock in its many forms.

Drawing from Southern rock, classic hard rock and metal without sitting neatly inside any one of them, BRU have built their sound around weight, melody and groove, with *Overcome* marking the band's first full-length statement.

The band have also been developing their reputation live throughout Texas and will spend the coming months taking *OVERCOME* to the stage.
