The Beasts are back…dirty, raw, and swampy as ever, just the way we like it.
Following their nationally sold-out Alive tour earlier this year, the final for surviving Beasts of Bourbon members James Baker, Tex Perkins, Kim Salmon, Boris Sujdovic and Charlie Owen, the legendary rock outfit, fuelled by a fire in their bellies, hit Melbourne’s Union Street Studios over two days to lay down the tracks for their brand-new album, ‘Ultimo’.
Set for release on December 13, 2024 (via Slick Productions/MGM Distribution), ‘Ultimo’ features nine fresh new songs, with songwriting contributions from Baker, Salmon, Perkins and Sujdovic. The album showcases the band at their peak and serves as the final chapter, as the title suggests.
Accompanying the new studio album, featuring a self-portrait by James Baker on the cover, will be the bonus Limited Edition Vinyl album recording, titled ‘The Beasts Alive’. Recorded across two sold out nights during the 40th Anniversary of the Beasts of Bourbon shows at Sydney’s Factory Theatre and Melbourne’s Croxton Bandroom in April 2023, this 11-track live recording includes a collection of Beasts’ classics & fan favourites (none of which appeared on the Limited Edition 5-track 45RPM 12” ‘be suburban’ which quickly sold out).
‘Ultimo’ & ‘The Beasts Alive’ will be released digitally and as a double gate folded Vinyl release (with ‘Ultimo’ on RED vinyl) on December 13, 2024.
