# Taylor Moss turns mortality into a rallying cry on Gravestone

Australian country artist Taylor Moss has released Gravestone, a new single from her upcoming album Double Life that transforms mortality into a celebration of living fully. Written following health scares that shifted her perspective, the song channels swampy country textures and infectious energy to argue against postponement: "I'll have livin' in my heart and glitter in my bones when I go to my gravestone."

At its heart, *Gravestone* is about the familiar idea of living life to the fullest, but with a little more grit, a little more humour, and a whole lot more perspective.

“*I think we all know the cliché of ‘live life to the fullest’, but when you’ve actually had moments where you realise how quickly life can change, it hits differently,” *says Moss.* “Life is short. Really short. I don’t want to sit on the sidelines of my own life. I want to be all in.”*

Written with a tongue-in-cheek attitude towards mortality, *Gravestone* turns the idea of death into a reason to live harder. From burning the candle at both ends to jumping in head first, Taylor embraces the chaos, ambition and unpredictability of being alive.

*“I’ve had a few medical scares that have completely changed my perspective,” *says Moss.* “You realise you don’t actually know how much time you have. So why not go after the things you want? Why wait for the weekend? Why wait for the ‘right’ time?”*

The song’s chorus sums up the sentiment perfectly: *“I’ll have livin’ in my heart and glitter in my bones when I go to my gravestone.”*
