Silver Wing (Michael Hubbard) is a musician and producer from Melbourne, Australia who creates rich, textural songs and soundscapes, utilising modern production techniques whilst embracing a strong vintage aesthetic, lending the project a thoroughly nostalgic quality.
Following on from his previous single release ‘Forever’, ‘Night Service’ is a celebration of the sights and sounds of a city after dark, once again infusing elements of vocal house and disco with modern pop and indie rock stylings.

“The track took a few twists and turns in it’s development, initially starting out with a straight up, four to the floor drum machine beat, complete with acid bassline. I quite liked the clubby feel, although I honestly wasn’t totally connected to it – it almost felt like someone else had produced it. I eventually reworked the track, keeping most of the original melodic elements but adding some acoustic drums, bass guitar and a growling moog synthesizer, steering the song back into much more familiar territory and bringing the organic quality I strive for in my recordings, to the fore. It’s landed somewhere in between early Y2K indie dance and the spacey psych rock sound I’ve always loved.”
“Growing up in Melbourne’s outer eastern suburbs was not an ideal location for a teenager deeply into music and wanting to experience the nightlife on offer in town. The only way home after a night out was one very long, late bus service which could be pretty colourful to say the least. With ‘Night Service’ I’ve tried to encapsulate the curiosity and youthful excitement of exploring the city’s night spots and those blurry bus rides home as a youngster”.
