+ ANNOUNCE SPECIAL ALBUM LAUNCH SHOWS THIS NOVEMBER

Following their first, and lauded, foray into self-producing on their #1 charting 2024 album Everything Is Bigger Than Me, today esteemed Australian folk duo Pierce Brothers announce their fourth studio album Moonrise set for release on November 28; a stunning collection woven with open-vein storytelling, and once again co-produced by Jack and Patrick Pierce alongside long-time friend and collaborator Phil Threlfall. Amplifying the excitement of a brand new Pierce Brothers record in 2025, the pair have also today released a stirring new single, I Will Love You, which will also feature on the Outback Mind Foundation’s men’s mental health documentary When The Dust Settles. And if that wasn’t enough Pierce Brothers excitement for one day, the pair have also today announced some special intimate album launch shows for Victoria this November, offering fans a chance to listen to the album up in an up-close-and-personal setting with the band, mixed with a Q&A and live performance.

A powerful, poignant and anthemic addition to the ever-growing Pierce Brothers catalogue, I Will Love You weaves in classic Pierce Brothers charm, complete with acoustic alchemy, soaring dynamics, and stirring vocals, capturing the pair’s magnetic live energy alongside sonic nods to “that Mumford & Sons world of new folk from the mid-2010s that we’ve always loved,” explains Jack Pierce. A driving ode to self-love and empowerment against the odds, I Will Love You delivers poetic narratives in spades; and fittingly, its origin story stems to the pair being approached to pen a song for an extremely special project, as Jack elaborates, “When the Outback Mind Foundation reached out with their idea for a song to accompany their incredible documentary When The Dust Settles about men’s mental health in outback Australia. I was eager to get writing. We did a few demos first up before we landed on I Will Love You, but when we got there we immediately knew it was something special! We wanted the track to be this massive anthem to self-love! The line “I Will Love You” is a simple one, and sounds like a classic love song. But we both loved the idea that it was something that we sometimes need reminding to say to ourselves. It’s an introspective song, looking in a mirror on the darkest days.”
I Will Love You joins previous Pierce Brothers singles Run Around The Lake, Losing Friends When You’re Older and Alaska Alaska in parting the curtain into album #4 for the duo. Following on from 2024’s Everything Is Bigger Than Me, which garnered resounding acclaim, from Rolling Stone Australia declaring it as “a sign of the Pierce Brothers’ maturity both as musicians and men” to Forte praising the release as “a significant milestone in their artistic journey”, the pair’s swift follow-up releasing Moonrise this November was born largely surrounding their relentless touring schedule that has stretched across the past few years as Jack explains, “We started working on this album around November last year. We were planning on heading back to Europe and decided that we needed a new album for the tour, so once we locked in the dates, we really gave ourselves a MASSIVE deadline that we’ve only JUST been able to reach!”
“We moved pretty quick to be honest!” Jack adds, reflecting on the release of the chart-blazing Everything Is Bigger Than Me. “We pretty much went from album to tour to the James Blunt tour, then onto a 10 year anniversary tour before settling down to make this record, then we’ll be hitting the road again, starting with Europe! We’ll be taking some time off over the summer however, just to prepare for a big 2026!”
Opening with I Will Love You, Moonrise instantly establishes itself as an immersive and inescapably moving outing, with its heartfelt and surging introduction showcasing both the core Pierce Brothers strengths as well as some fresh and polished new direction. From here, the first half of the album deals in rousing relatability (Losing Friends When You’re Older), and folk-hued ruminations on matters of the heart that readily present as the acoustic lovechild of Bob Dylan and Eddie Vedder (Alaska Alaska), before delving into silken grooves and whimsical yet modern production (Catastrophe), propulsive rock-meets-folk perfection (On And On), and a love song abundantly worthy to play before the credits roll, tugging at the heartstrings and also captivating with glossy, burgeoning soundscapes (Meet Me At The Border). From here, the second half of Moonrise flows through dreamy reflections of the road to true love (Someone I Love), intimate contemplations on life’s highs and lows (Fighter Of The Year), and a lively diversion into sinewy melodics, percolating beats and glimmering keys (Black Gold). And with a flourishing return to emphatic anthems laced with fuzzy guitars and thunderous drums (Run Around The Lake), Moonrise arrives at its penultimate track with vigorous acoustic guitars set against stripped-back percussion, gripping rhythmic shifts and vocals squarely drawing you in with powerful vulnerability. But it’s on the album’s title and closing track Moonrise that the past, present and future of the Pierce Brothers legacy collides, boasting swooning harmonies, glistening flourishes of woodwind and strings, and acoustic guitars capable of billowing you gently into the clouds and beyond. Closing with warmth and serenity, Moonrise concludes with staggering yet cleverly simple beauty, while also perfectly summing up the enduring themes and journey explored throughout the album, as Pat elaborates, “This is a record that really covers the past two years for us. As with most people, the big themes are front and centre, family, loss, but there are some tunes that definitely touch on a more narrative theme than we’ve done in the past. That said, I think this record has more outright love songs than anything we’ve done in the past, so I’ll take that as a pretty good sign in life!”

Co-produced by Pat and Jack Pierce, along with Phil Threlfall who also ticked off engineering and mixing duties for Moonrise, the upcoming new album also added extra magic courtesy of mastering by Andrew Eremin (Tones and I, Tash Sultana, G Flip, Baker Boy), additional drums by Josh Barber and Pete Marin on some of the tracks, and some sparkling guests turns throughout, as Jack reveals, “We wanted to explore a little more in the music on this record. I think with ETIBTM we were kind of finding our feet in the producer role, and we learned a lot from it. This time we put a whole lot more prep into the tracks, and experimented with different sounds. One of the first tracks we did was a song we actually didn’t produce (the only one on the album) Catastrophe. We co-wrote the Catastrophe with our old pal and INCREDIBLE producer Jan Skubiszewski, and it definitely was a new direction that we just absolutely VIBED from the outset. From there we started doing our own thing and that gave us the inspiration to try some new things. For example, tracks like Meet Me At The Border, that was co-written with our keys player Dara Munnis. That song was HARD WORK! It has a very difficult to place rhythm and time signature, which is changing throughout the song. But I absolutely LOVE it! PLUS we got the drummer from The Frames to lay down the beat, which is far beyond my capabilities as a drummer haha!”
A dynamic fixture on the Australian and broader global music scene, Pierce Brothers have spent their storied career accumulating ongoing chart successes, global tours, both as headliners and alongside an eyewatering array of icons, generating millions of streams, and fostering a devoted fanbase that rapidly expands with each new release and performance. Igniting their creative journey busking on the streets of Melbourne, Pierce Brothers, aka Pat and Jack Pierce, have enamoured with their larger-than-life charm, prolific storytelling and a potent mix of high energy indie folk, blues and roots. With two top 15 ARIA albums, two Top 10 ARIA Eps, and tours that have taken them to the UK, North America, South Africa and Australia, as well as on stages with the likes of James Blunt and Tash Sultana, and at Bluesfest Byron Bay, Port Fairy Folk Festival and countless more, Pierce Brothers first announced themselves to the world via their breakout 2014 EP The Night Tree, and most recently delighted with their 2024 third full-length Everything Is Bigger Than Me, debuting at #1 on the Australian Albums Chart and snagging a top 20 debut on the all-genres, all-formats Albums Chart.
Never ones to rest on their laurels, Pierce Brothers kicked off 2025 with an extensive 10th anniversary tour for The Night Tree EP, and have already loaded up their 2026 live performance dance card with a hotly-anticipated UK and European run next January and February, with multiple shows already close to sold out. But before 2025 draws to a close, Pierce Brothers will not only unveil their spectacular fourth studio album Moonrise on November 28, they will also offer fans a chance to experience their new LP with them live in person in unforgettable fashion, with some special album launch parties taking place around Victoria this November. At these small intimate shows, fans will be able to digest the new record alongside a mixed Q&A and performance special event. No support act, just the Pierce Brothers and a comedian MC talking and playing through the record.
“This is quite a different format for a show,” says Pat, “we’re going to be talking about each track individually with a presenter, and then exploring the performances one by one! And in smaller rooms than we’ve done for a while, we get to meet everyone there and talk about the new album!”
Each pop-up show will be followed by a meet and greet where fans can ask their own questions about the record and join in with the duo celebrating the release of Moonrise. But until next month when Moonrise arrives, fans can also relish in some brand new Pierce Brothers magic, courtesy of I Will Love You.
“We’ve been writing SO much recently that there are a bunch of different sounds on this record, more varied than we’ve explored in the past!” says Jack. “But I Will Love You is a real expression of what Pierce Brothers’ best assets are, both in live performance and storytelling. I’m really proud of this track.”
