The London occult rock band recorded the album at Rockfield Studios in January 2026 with producer Tom Dalgety, stripping back their arrangements to capture their live sound with raw heaviness. --- **GREEN LUNG Reveal New Video 'Ozymandias'** **Band's Stunning Fourth Album *****NECROPOLITAN***** Out Now** **Green Lung**, the masters of occult riff-craft, today share new video 'Ozymandias', a Halloween treat, taken from their acclaimed fourth album *Necropolitan *(out now, **Nuclear Blast**).  Vocalist **Tom Templar **states: *"We’re excited to share a new animation from the arcane imaginations of illustrator ****Richard Wells**** and animator ****Joseph Brett ****as a Halloween treat. ‘Ozymandias’ is one of our favourite songs on this album to play in the practice space, and we can’t wait to play it on tour in December. Adapted from ****Percy Bysshe Shelley****’s poem musing on the futility of human empire-building, his words couldn’t be more relevant for today."* A huge step forward in songwriting and vision, *Necropolitan* is the album **Green Lung **have been threatening to make since their inception. As well as a portrait of the triumph and power of death and nature over the dreams and dominion of humankind, *Necropolitan* is a grand celebration of the folklore, occult and heavy music scene of the band’s birthplace, the city of London. The album title derives from the seven garden cemeteries (necropoli) circling the city, all built in the Victorian era. The result is an album that combines the soaring hookiness of previous album *This Heathen Land* with an uncompromising rawness and heaviness, and takes the band’s distinctive brand of sonic storytelling to macabre new heights.   If, two years following **Black Sabbath**’s *Back to the Beginning *show and the death of **Ozzy Osbourne**, you had any doubts about the future of traditional British metal, *Necropolitan* lays them to rest. Here is a band taking the torch from the heavy metal godfathers and running with it, bursting with all the musicianship and storytelling flair that has kept the genre’s flame burning for a half-century, and using it to temper a lyrical and sonic world that is entirely their own. A cult band in every sense of the word, **Green Lung **emerged from London’s heavy rock scene with self-released debut EP*** Free the Witch*** (2018). Drawing on a host of peculiarly British musical influences, from doomy hard rock to pastoral prog and psych to the Hammer Horror theatrics of the NWOBHM, the band have swiftly risen to the forefront of the UK metal scene. Lyrically celebrating the folklore, myths and legends of Britain, they conjure the wild and witchy spirit of their forebears for a new generation. **Green Lung **have released three critically acclaimed albums, ***Woodland Rites*** (2019), ***Black Harvest*** (2021) and ***This Heathen Land ***(2023). They have toured internationally with **Clutch**, **Opeth** and **Unto Others**, and performed on festival stages from **Roadburn** to **Download**. Their latest album ***This Heathen Land*** landed at #1 on the UK’s Official Rock and Metal Album Chart. *"This is heavy metal how it should be done"* **The Guardian** **[WEBSITE](https://us.list-manage.com/_aYOfDTjmNu?e=8eb7da516a&c2id=b83ff968615ee1ab477761331e6087de)**** | ****[FACEBOOK](https://us.list-manage.com/8C3M8o1V83p?e=8eb7da516a&c2id=b83ff968615ee1ab477761331e6087de)**** | ****[INSTAGRAM](https://us.list-manage.com/1AnP9Aet4sx?e=8eb7da516a&c2id=b83ff968615ee1ab477761331e6087de)**** | ****[YOUTUBE](https://us.list-manage.com/_x6tv53jBsf?e=8eb7da516a&c2id=b83ff968615ee1ab477761331e6087de)**** | ****[TIKTOK](https://us.list-manage.com/MxjXO3MBdBg?e=8eb7da516a&c2id=b83ff968615ee1ab477761331e6087de)**** | ****[SPOTIFY](https://us.list-manage.com/18YxKHT3kp6?e=8eb7da516a&c2id=b83ff968615ee1ab477761331e6087de)** ** ****[APPLE MUSIC](https://us.list-manage.com/OnSv2nxa0_l?e=8eb7da516a&c2id=b83ff968615ee1ab477761331e6087de)**** | ****[BANDCAMP](https://us.list-manage.com/OR5xzxsM8vl?e=8eb7da516a&c2id=b83ff968615ee1ab477761331e6087de)** ![Five musicians in dark clothing stand posed within an arched stone doorway surrounded by green foliage.](https://media.onyourmarkus.au/admin/2026/10/c0f9a758-35cc-458a-bcf3-a6a176394ebf.jpg)
