Canadian punk-rock torchbearers Calling All Captains have announced their new EP, The Things That I’ve Lost, out January 9, 2026 via New Damage Records. The seven-track release, recorded with longtime collaborator Quinn Cyrankiewicz (Royal Tusk) at The Audio Department in Edmonton, AB, showcases the band at their most raw, refined, and resilient. Mixed by Tim Creviston and mastered by Stuart McKillop (Rain City Recorders), the EP chronicles themes of burnout, grief, and fractured identity with unflinching honesty.

“Our new song ‘A New Type Of Grey’ touches on the in-between feelings of looking at the world in a black and white way,” explains vocalist Luc Gauthier. “Succumbing to your insecurities and focusing on your weaknesses can lead to black and white thinking. As to say if something isn’t 100% good, then it’s 100% bad. However, that is not the reality. Our own hopes and dreams can fester into wonderful things if we can find a new type of hope in the black and white.”
Luc adds, “The music video for “A New Type of Grey” is one that is very personal to me, being indigenous. Before doing music full-time I was working within the social services field directly with Indigenous youth as a cultural support worker. I’m thankful to have had that position as it allowed me to support their identity and provide opportunities for any cultural activities for extra curricular outings.

With a dynamic lineup of Luc Gauthier (vocals), Connor Dawkins (guitar/vocals), Brad Bremner (guitar/vocals), and Tim Wilson (drums), Calling All Captains have built a reputation for turning personal struggle into explosive, emotionally charged punk rock. Their sound fuses post-hardcore grit with pop-punk urgency and alt-rock weight, resulting in a cathartic blend of vulnerability and volatility.
The Things That I’ve Lost also features a standout co-write on “Blood for Blood” with acclaimed songwriter Tom Denney (A Day to Remember, Pierce the Veil, Neck Deep)—a powerful testament to the band’s growing creative reach.
“This is the most personal release we’ve ever put out,” adds Gauthier. “These songs came from a place of reflecting on everything we’ve been through, personally and as a band. It’s raw, but it’s real. And I think people will feel that.”
The EP follows national Canadian and U.S. headline tours and major festival appearances that have cemented Calling All Captains as one of the most promising bands in the scene. With new music, international ambitions, and an ever-expanding fanbase, the band is poised to enter its most defining era yet.
The Things That I’ve Lost may tell the story of breaking down, but Calling All Captains are already proving what comes next is all about rising up.
