After lighting a fuse with debut single “Identity”, BIG NOTER returns with round two: “Talk Straight” – a sharp-tongued, riff-heavy banger dropping today via Island Records Australia. The new single hits just as the band embarks on a massive national tour with Karnivool, kicking off in Hobart.
Fronted by Yorta Yorta Icon (and national treasure) Briggs, BIG NOTER is the sound of unfiltered power and a full-circle return to the raw energy that first drew him to music. While Briggs built his reputation in hip-hop with razor-sharp lyricism and fearless delivery, BIG NOTER tears into the realm of hardcore, punk, and metal with the same intent – just louder, heavier, and with nothing held back.
Produced by Nick Didia (Rage Against the Machine, Pearl Jam), “Talk Straight” is a callout to the performative and the disingenuous – a track born from the desire to cut through the noise and say what needs to be said. The chorus hits hard and direct: “Talk straight… watch your mouth if you’re talkin’ to me.”
BIG NOTER have just returned home after taking their heavy-hitting live show to new audiences across Europe with Amyl & The Sniffers. Now back on home soil, they’re set to tour nationally with Karnivool, with their first-ever headline show at Northcote Social Club this August already sold out. For those who missed out, they’ll also join thrash icons Suicidal Tendencies as main support on their 2025 Australian tour.
