We have teamed up with Wallis Cinemas to offer you a special evening where opera and film connect, where one art form finds its way into another and two worlds that seem so far apart… come together for a stirring experience.
Join us at the Piccadilly Cinema on Tuesday 29 October as we delve deeper into Lucia’s story with cast and creatives in a free pre-movie panel talk, and enjoy a live sneak peek performance of ‘Il dolce suono’ from Emma Pearson.
Then hop on for the ride to Fhloston Paradise with a spectacular 35mm screening of The Fifth Element. The operatic performance by Diva Plavalaguna in the 1997 cult The Fifth Element is iconic for sci-fi fans, but not many know the piece is indeed Lucia’s aria ‘Il dolce suono’ (‘The sweet sound’), the beginning of her descent into madness.
