The Necks return to Adelaide, Opening the Woodville Town Hall 2025 Fringe Season

One of Australia’s most revered music trailblazers, The Necks, will take the
stage for one night only at Woodville Town Hall, on the opening night of the
2025 Adelaide Fringe Festival.

The Necks are one of the great cult bands of the world. Chris Abrahams (piano) Tony
Buck (drums) and Lloyd Swanton (bass) conjure a chemistry together that defies
description in conventional terms.

Revered internationally for their improvisational prowess & hypnotic live
performances, their approach emphasizes real-time composition. Each performance
is a spontaneous creation, making every live show a completely unique experience.

The Woodville Town hall has launched a huge program for the 2025 Adelaide Fringe,
including performances from The Necks, Gill Hicks who is considered one of the
most thought provoking, powerful and life affirming speakers in Australia and the UK,
as well as Prinnie Stevens from channel 7’s The Voice, The International Comedy
Festival, New York Songstress Tracey Yard, local music heartthrobs the 60 Four,
and a number of incredible local performers including Bonnie Lee Galea with her
tribute to Nina Simone, Anna Thomas’ critically acclaimed How To Drink Wine Like A
Wanker, and Edinburgh Fringe award winning Erics Tales of the Sea.

The team at Woodville Town Hall are thrilled to be working in with such an incredibly
diverse and talented group of Adelaide Fringe artists, and welcoming a wide South
Australian audience to its stunning venue.

In the recent years Woodville Town Hall has hosted many household names
including Vika & Linda Bull, Marcia Hines, Paul Kelly, The Southern Sons, Ru Pauls
Drag Race “Snatch Game” with Rhys Nicholson, comedians such as Urzila Carlson
and Nazeem Hussain, as well the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra.

Located just 20 minutes from Adelaide CBD, The Woodville Town Hall is not only a
vibrant live music and performing arts venue, hosting world class musicians,
comedians and performers, but a key cultural hub in Western Adelaide, that provides
an important social destination where people and communities come together.
