Having never performed outside of Victoria, when the opportunity to stage his own show at Fool’s Paradise at the 2025 Adelaide Fringe was dealt, the potential for becoming a professional travelling magician is now on the cards for Lachlan Wilde.
After attending the Adelaide Fringe as a patron for many years, Lachlan knew that in order to make a name for himself, he needed to take centre-stage and he couldn’t be more excited to debut here this March.

“Opportunities are few and far between for an artist from a small town, and in order to support my dream of making a name for myself as a working magician, I have worn many hats over the years, as a cashier, bartender, and even a trolley boy, so being able to perform my own show in the centre of Adelaide is a great achievement for me ” said Lachlan.
“People often see magic as kitsch, but I prove it can be artistic and wonderful. I tell the true story of how my grandfather introduced me to the world of magic, and while my magic is astonishing, I am a natural storyteller and my show highlights that real magic is in the moments we share with others.
“My proud British heritage will be on full display in Adelaide. Rather than a top-hat and magic wand, I perform magic with tea and biscuits, Christmas pudding, and I have added in something local with a new trick involving the iconic Adelaide must-try for the sweet tooth: The Frog Cake which I think Adelaide audiences will enjoy.”
“I encourage everyone aged 15 or over to book a ticket and come and enjoy a fun filled show with me and their favourite people,” said Wilde.
Originally from Tyabb, Victoria, a small town with a population of less than 4000, Lachlan is set to amaze local audiences at the 2025 Adelaide Fringe, proving that magic has no borders and is a great way to connect through shared enjoyment.
