New Wankernomics show to premier at Adelaide Fringe

Australia’s favourite workplace wankers return to the Adelaide Fringe with their most outcomes-focused, value-added, best-practice, deep-dive yet into the realities of the working world.

After entirely sold-out 2024 runs in Australia, Edinburgh & London, James and Charles from Wankernomics are coming back to the Adelaide Fringe to premier an all-new show.

Delivered in the form of an agonising all-hands meeting, Just Touching Base is a hilarious real-time demonstration of the buzzwords, bureaucracy, banality and bullsh*t of modern working life.

Mixing dark satire with observational comedy, Wankernomics: Just Touching Base pulls back the curtain on the modern working world – from cult-like workplace language and pointless recurring meetings, to the sense of meaninglessness that comes with an over-corporatised world.

Asked to comment on the new show, James Schloeffel said, “We should probably set up a separate meeting to discuss that”.

Charles Firth said: “Can we take that offline and circle back later?”

Since launching in 2023, Wankernomics has become something of a phenomenon: their clips have been viewed millions of times online, and their shows have been described by audience members as, “Probably the best Fringe comedy show we’ve ever attended” and “The most original show we saw this year”.
