Queer Flesh, Sacred Soul Exhibition by Oscar Arrais

What happens when we look beyond the body and into the soul of queer identity?

Queer Flesh, Sacred Soul is a raw and emotionally charged textile collage exhibition by Oscar Arrais, on display at Payinthi throughout November. This free exhibition features 7 works from a larger 12-piece body of work, each created from reclaimed materials gathered over four years.

Through layered fabrics, leather, and found textures, Oscar explores themes of self-image, queer mental health, spiritual identity, and emotional resilience. The exhibition critiques superficial expectations in queer spaces and gently urges viewers to reflect inward:
Am I happy? Am I whole? Am I being true to myself?

Each artwork is a quiet act of protest—and a deeply personal invitation to reconnect with the sacred essence of being queer.

While 5 additional works will only be available during the Opening Night on November 5, this exhibition offers a powerful, reflective experience for all.

All original works and limited edition giclée prints available at www.arrais.com.au.
