Beloved singer songwriter Beccy Cole (OAM) has released her much-anticipated 9thstudio album ‘Through The Haze’ via ABC Music.

Having entertained audiences for over 30 years, the record is her first solo album in 7 years with the 13-track release also available on vinyl from March 27.

Beccy expressed, “Through The Haze definitely has an element of diary entry style songwriting, there are certainly songs that explore my marriage breakup (and breakdown) and samples of the lessons learned through therapy and sometimes sweetened with the humour that has somewhat driven me throughout most of my life”.

“The album is not just about heartbreak and divorce though, I like to think there’s more positivity on this record than deep sadness. I’ve worked on myself more in the last four years than ever before and I’ve cracked some pretty important mysteries about who I am, I actually feel the most free and content I’ve ever felt. I discovered a level of strength and resilience I didn’t know I had and I felt it infiltrating the songwriting more than before, it actually makes tapping into past fragility quite painless!”

Recorded on the NSW Central Coast, produced by Brandon Dodd of Dingo Music Productions and The Sisters of Twang including Julz Parker, Leesa Gentz, Ali Foster (and Beccy), the album was mixed by Matt Fell and mastered by Jeff McCormack.

The record opens with her new single and live fan favourite, ‘Shit Magnet’ and as Beccy explains, “Essentially, this song is about being able to laugh at myself. I am a shit magnet, no doubt about it!… This one is so fun to do live, and the merch is very popular. It seems like many others can relate to being a shit magnet as well!”.  Also featured are previous singles ‘The Gardener & The Flower’, which likens love and partnership to tending a garden — nurturing a relationship over time, plus ‘More Cows Than Cowgirls’, which Beccy describes as “a tongue-in-cheek reflection on the long line of ravaged roadkill laying on the side of the highway of my life…” and the 20th anniversary version of her #1 country track and signature single ‘Poster Girl’ released for Anzac Day 2025 are also included.

Tickets are on sale now for special album launch shows in NSW with Beccy’s band The Sisters of Twang. The performances are scheduled for May 7 at the Lazybones Lounge in Sydney, May 8 at the Full Throttle Ranch in Buttai, Newcastle and May 9 in Katoomba in the Blue Mountains at The Baroque Room.

Beccy also forms part of the line-up at the Echuca Country Music Festival on March 28 and ‘Barra & Boots’ in Lake Prosperpine, Queensland on May 30.
