A FRINGE FAVOURITE RETURNS WITH THE MUSIC THAT STIRRED AND NURTURED A GENERATION
“Cat, Neil & Captain Fantastic” … A Unique Tribute to Three Legendary Singers … One Night Only, Plant 4 Bowden
The music and stories of three of the most influential and loved songwriters and singers of our times comes together in a unique showcase performance especially designed for Fringe audiences.
Loosely falling into the “tribute show” category, this breaks the standard definition in combining the work of three different, highly distinctive musical forces – Cat Stevens, Neil Young and Elton John – as they simultaneously shaped of the sound of music around the world for over a decade.
With an emphasis on material from their early catalogue, combining hits and classic, lesser-known album tracks, “Cat, Neil & Captain Fantastic” is a show that transcends imitation … with respectful renditions and fresh interpretations of the highly familiar and the almost forgotten.
Music industry stalwart and long-time Fringe producer, Al Rosewarne, is excited to be bringing the show to the Plant 4 stage accompanied by a hot line-up of some of the town’s most seasoned musicians.
“This is a show very close the hearts of me and the band, and we can’t wait to get back in front of a Fringe audience and have them enjoy the vibe along with us”, Rosewarne said.
“In putting this show together, I wanted it to be a reflection and celebration of the era and the quality of the songwriting, and not just about copy-cat musical imitation”, he said. “To have the opportunity of presenting it in the terrific atmosphere down at Plant 4 is a real bonus, and I think will really add to everyone’s enjoyment of the occasion.”
From “Father & Son” to “Rocket Man”, “Heart of Gold” and beyond … intimate and forgotten insights of the artists, wry personal observations and fine musicianship … it all comes together in a highly entertaining 70 minute theatrical presentation.
Returning in 2026 following past Fringe sell-outs, Cat, Nei & Captain Fantastic will be staged in concert-cabaret mode at the wonderful Plant 4 Bowden – for one night only on Saturday 7th March!
