Eden – 2026 Adelaide Fringe

Siren Theatre Co’s EDEN – A lyrical coming-of-age story about identity, desire, and the cost of becoming.

World Premiere – Adelaide Fringe 2026

A new work by Kate Gaul

Siren Theatre Co presents the world premiere of EDEN, a new play by Kate Gaul, at Adelaide Fringe

Set over one charged summer, the play explores identity, transformation, and the quiet violence of becoming.

ABOUT THE WORK

EDEN follows Kit and Dan as their lives hover between past and possibility. Desire, guilt, and the ache for belonging entwine as the pair navigate a landscape where myth blurs the present, and where every step toward self-knowledge carries a cost.

Infused with a distinctive theatrical language, EDEN unfolds as part confession, part elegy, part mystery. As the story deepens, beauty and danger become inseparable, revealing the fragile moment when identity takes shape — and something precious is lost forever.

Siren Theatre Co is an independent Sydney-based theatre company commissioning and producing new Australian plays, re-invented classics, and work for young people and families. Siren’s practice is guided by a commitment to strong storytelling, theatricality that could exist in no other medium, and work that is beautiful, rigorous, imaginative, and timely. Telling female-centred stories — and interpreting work through a female-centred lens — is central to Siren’s artistic ethos, alongside supporting adventurous and distinctive artists.
