City Of Charles Sturt Invests In Woodville Town Hall Ahead Of 2027 Centenary

This investment includes:

  • $1.7 million for critical sound, lighting, and venue upgrades, giving WTH a professional-grade live performance capability and modernised facilities.
  • $150,000 annual programming fund to attract high-quality events, including live music, theatre, and cultural performances.

Woodville Town Hall has long been a hub for live arts and cultural activity. These upgrades will remove technical and operational barriers that currently limit midweek and high-profile bookings, enabling the venue to attract national touring acts, support independent artist, and expand its role as a key Fringe Hub.

Mayor Angela Evans said:

“Woodville Town Hall is a treasured community space, and these upgrades will ensure it remains a vibrant cultural centre for the next 100 years. By investing in its infrastructure, programming, and operations, we are creating opportunities for more performances, more events, and more ways for our community to connect”.

The upgrades are strategically timed to coincide with WTH’s Centenary in 2027, celebrating a century of civic, cultural, and architectural significance. Completion of works in 2026 will position the Hall to host a dynamic program of events, enhance the Woodville Road precinct, and deliver ongoing economic, cultural, and social benefits.
